He built the whole album around a brother who wasn’t home yet.

Jiggs locked the concept for Belly of the Beast before Berg285 got back from 22 months away. He held the vision, kept the architecture intact, and the moment his brother walked through the door they were in the booth. That’s not patience. That’s treating the outcome as real before the evidence arrives, which is the whole game.

Swipe through. Full Deep Dive on Substack.

As a shooter we move fast, event from event, show to show, late night sessions, meetings etc. it’s a privilege to be able to move how I move and work along side amazing shooters, artist, producer. As well build a lane for myself. HERES TO Q3

June's Article of the Month goes to Vince Staples.

"Who's the Cry Baby" is a full album decode of Cry Baby, his first release as an independent artist after eleven years at Def Jam.

The piece walks all seven decoded tracks in order, running Chancellor Williams' The Destruction of Black Civilization and W.E.B. Du Bois' The Souls of Black Folk as the dual spine underneath every song, with the Hermetic laws shifting track by track as the angle changes.

From the detonation of the opener to the unanswerable question of the closer, this is the full argument Vince built and the full framework it maps onto.

Every month, the top-performing piece gets selected and hosted free on Google Drive. Permanently. For as long as Lyrics to Legacy runs.

No subscription. No paywall. Just the work.

Link in bio.

Shooting has given me a the ability to capture moments, events and just times with people I rock with heavy plus being able to bring the home movie vibe to this day and age is a blessing. Here’s to 16 days with SDE, featuring various cameos from the gang.

Swipe if your house isn’t in order.

Jiggs said it in on “S.O.O.N.” and the whole record tunes in.
The arrival isn’t the reward for the work. The order you build before anyone confirms the direction is the thing itself.

Read the slides. Then read the rest on Substack.

In my career I’ve picked up many different styles starting off as being know as a “fisheye shooter, to doing underground work, production work, etc. In picking up those different styles one thing that’s always stuck is the double exposure bc it shows two stories in one photo and lately been gradually changing towards doing more of theses and forgetting I’ve had some in the vault now for a min. So here’s what been holding on to from “New Wave SDE” as ppl been saying
