“I don’t have friends, I got family.”

So I wanted to do my first half marathon but not just any half marathon — a @spartan Half Marathon in Big Bear 😮‍💨 Ranked one of the toughest courses in the U.S. 🏔️

I knew some friends weren’t ready for a 21k yet, so I invited friends out for the 5k the next day so everyone could still be part of the experience.

This was the toughest challenge of my life. My moving time was 4:50, but elapsed time was 7:28 because the mountain absolutely destroyed my bro @dmiirza 😭 Having a no man left behind policy we had to take countless breaks. Endless hills, brutal elevation, had my bro legs give out 3 miles in after saying the mountain would be easy 🤦🏽‍♂️ Along the way a stranger became a friend @miguel_trex & conquered the day together 🙌🏽

The next day I could barely walk & thought there was no way I could do the 5k. I even prayed for a sign if I should go back out there. Minutes later @dmirza said, “bro we gotta go back, I need redemption.” That’s when I knew it was time 😤

Not only did we finish the 5k, but this time HE was the one pushing ME through it.

To some people this stuff sounds pointless or impossible, but to a lot of others these challenges & experiences are life changing. Appreciate everyone supporting my journey, all the comments, DMs, and my growing Spartan family 🖤 Huge thank you to my wife & mom too for taking care of me after I got home, I couldn’t even carry myself to bed once the adrenaline & will to win took its rest

Thank you @spartan for this life changing experience. This is only the beginning 💪🏽
