Identity // gouache on canvas
This piece was inspired by forget me not a piece about not losing yourself amongst change.
All my life I have never been afraid of expressing myself. I’ve pushed uniform limits and different aesthetics. I’ve worn boys clothes and girls clothes. I’m very fluid with my appearance I’ve never been a set person.
With this piece it explores how I view my creations with my looks. My creativity in my looks has always uplifted me in moments of sadness, well sometimes it hasn’t. The yellow stripes on my pants signify that. Sometimes this brings out happiness other times not. Do I lack stability in myself and identity ? I’ll always express myself in many different ways I’ll never have a *true* look attached to me. Hence the faceless face.
My identity is creation and I hope I never stop creating.
