ONE WEEK IN MY LIFE… as a BIR co-Lead @wordfest

1 festival
6 days
14 events attended
29 authors
3 lunches
2 dinners
2 after parties
1 pre show reception

… countless memories and new friends!

•Thank you @wordfest for having me again.
•Thank you @shareworthy for trusting me to help with your BIR program again.
•Thank you to @readingwiththechoob for showing me the ropes.
•Thank you to the great group of BIRs for being such a creative group.
•Thank you to the authors for all their time and hard work.
• Thank you to the volunteers for all their donated hours.

And lastly and maybe most importantly, thank you to husband for legitimately holding down the fort at home and balancing the delicate the house of cards that is our insane schedule for the entire week so I could be galavanting downtown with friends and authors with no worries other than where my next show is was (I only messed this up once) when I would be getting my next meal (I didn’t miss a single one).

Until next year @wordfest 🩵🫶

What was your week like?!

meet WF’s 2026 Bookstagrammers-in-Residence! 🎉

If you don’t already know, @wordfest runs THE Liveliest Literary Festival in Canada, called The Imaginairium, every October in Calgary— with 60 authors over 40+ experiences in just 6 days, bringing readers and writers together from all over the world, it’s sure to be an experience you won’t want to miss!!

This year is the 3rd year that they’re bringing in reinforcements via social media creators to help share/document the entire event— that’s us! 🤭 Think of us as your festival Tour Guides!! Need book or show recommendations? We’ve got them (swipe and see for yourself)! Maybe you need tips on where to sit or park? We have you covered! Can’t make it? We’ll be all over socials, so hopefully we make you feel as connected as if you were in the room with us 🫶

So make sure you’re following because you don’t want to miss all the things! SO EXCITED to kick things off! Less than a month left!! See you there!! 🗓️

Another day, another @wordfest event !

Last night was a two for one event, the first half being the Imaginairium preview and the second half the Tea Mutonji conversation.

The Imaginairium preview takes place every September and it is truly one of my favourite events; Shelley does a comprehensive deep dive of the schedule and gives the audience additional insight into all the shows. I always leave this event with a list of more experiences I NEED to attend during the festival.

The conversation with Tea was so good. There is no other was to describe her other than a force. She is funny, honest, effervescent and incredibly intelligent and I cannot wait to read My Person.

Check out the link in my stories to view the Imaginairium schedule - there are still tickets available!

Which event are you most looking forward to? For me, it is everything and anything Liz Nugent related! If you’re not local, do you have any literary festivals in your area?
