why should i tell people about jesus ?? does He really change people’s lives ??

yes. let me tell you about jesus & what He’s done in my life the past 7 years !!

in high school, i wasn’t the best at sports, but I loved running. it wasn’t about winning for me… it was about the peace i felt when i ran. running gave me a sense of freedom and control, something i couldn’t find anywhere else after i quit swimming (special shoutout to my epilepsy haha),
but things changed when i started feeling pain in my legs that wouldn’t go away. after several “injuries” (my nickname was boots .. lol), i was diagnosed with Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome (PAES), a condition where the muscles in my leg squeezed the artery behind my knee, cutting off blood flow and causing intense pain. i had surgery after surgery (13 of them !!) but I couldn’t escape the cycle of pain and recovery. each surgery seemed to bring more frustration than healing, and i found myself unable to do the one thing i loved… running.
in an attempt to regain control over my life, i developed an eating disorder. i believed that by controlling my body, i could regain control over the chaos i felt inside. it was a very destructive way of coping, and i sank deeper into the belief that i had to look a certain way or perform at a certain level to be worthy.
in the midst of this all, a friend invited me to youth group my senior year of highschool. i didn’t know what i was expecting, but i was desperate for something to fill the emptiness i was feeling. that night, i heard about grace and unconditional love… ideas that seemed so foreign to me. i had spent so much time trying to earn love and acceptance through my body, my achievements, and my appearance (not just my physical appearance — the opinions of others was a big deal too) but here was a message that love wasn’t something i had to work for…. it was already given to me.

For those of you who don’t know, May is #mebtalhealthawarenessmonth !! 💚

Mental health is no joke, and I’ll forever be thankful for artists, especially other believers, that are brave enough to openly discuss mental health and share their testimonies with others — mine is pinned on my account :))

As someone who struggles with PTSD, Panic Disorder, and Depression daily, It can feel really isolating, especially when my mind starts spiraling and my body just won’t chill out. Even when I know the truth, it doesn’t always feel true in the moment, and that’s still something I’m walking through everyday — and I probably will for the rest of my life here on Earth.

Life has been VERY crazy and hard at times (I graduated undergrad, moved states…again, and I started grad school), but Claire Leslie and Katy Nichole have been such a gift through it all. Their music has met me and continues to meet me right where I am, even on the hard days when nothing feels steady. It reminds me over and over again, that I’m not actually alone… even when it really feels like I am — God is still there in the middle of the anxiety, the fear, and all the quiet, heavy moments.

Thank God I’m not alone (y’all should really go listen to that song ;)) and I never will be !! TYJ !!

p.s — the 8 hour drive was SO worth it. Thanks for the hugs @clairelesliesings :)
