We’ve just dropped our youngest daughter off at uni, 200 miles away, and I’m feeling all the emotions.
I’m so incredibly proud of her. She’s wanted to go to this particular university for years and she’s worked so hard to get here. Seeing her finally arrive, following her dreams and becoming the person she wants to be, is everything you hope for as a parent.
But God, it’s hard to drive away.
Our eldest moved out a few months ago, so we officially have an empty nest. And although I know they’ll both be back through that front door many, many times, it still feels like the end of an era.
It’s one of those parts of midlife we don’t really talk about enough. The absolute joy of watching your children fly, mixed with the pain of having to let them go.
For years, your life revolves around them. The noise, the mess, the lifts, the washing, the constant coming and going. And then suddenly, the house is quiet.
I know it’s going to take us a little while to get used to this new version of life. But they’re both happy, they’re out there building lives of their own and, ultimately, that’s all we ever wanted for them.
Still doesn’t make it easy though.
So to all the other parents dropping their children off at uni over the next few weeks, then driving home with an empty seat and a lump in their throat… I feel you. ❤️

Congratulations to our 10 countdown challenge filmmakers who kicked off last nights screening. We had over 40 entries this time and every one was absolute gold, what a creative bunch you are.

Happy New Year!
For 2025 I’m going to focus on my health, my mind and my body. I will be continuing with my healthy eating and stepping up my fitness goals. Career wise, 2024 was good to me. I had my debut book published, worked with amazing brands and grew my Substack. In 2025 I want to really focus on my Substack and make it bigger and better than ever. I want to also step up my content on instagram and go out of my comfort zone a bit more to create content I’m really proud of.
Thanks so much for all your support. This community on here means the world.

We went to my favourite place in New York yesterday. Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The best vibe, best vintage shops and a bit more relaxed than Manhattan.
We visited @bakeribrooklyn for coffee and cakes and then after lots of walking and perusing, we ended the day with the best steak I’ve ever eaten @peterlugersteakhouse.
We were so stuffed we couldn’t move afterwards. Totally worth it though!
24k steps done today. Wow!!!

Today me and my hubby went on a lunch date to @34mayfair and oh my what an absolute treat it was. A three course meal, cocktails and the best service. Nestled a few minutes walk from Bond St tube, this gorgeous restaurant had us salivating through every bite. We both went for steak and I had to try the infamous doughnuts. They didn’t disappoint. I highly recommend @34mayfair for a special treat.
We’re already planning our next visit.
