This was a tough night and tougher edit as the Milky Way and I fought through the clouds, wind and frigid cold at the Naturalist Shack in Assateague Island National Seashore in March 2026! Positioning was also difficult, hence the parking lot in the background. But in the end, I was able to get the shot, despite all the obstacles. What do you think? #milkywaychasers #milkyway_nightscapes #milkywaygalaxy #milkywayphotography #nightskyphotography

Orion rises over the Naturalist Shack in Assateague Island National Seashore. This was a very tough edit and to be honest, I'm still not happy with it. But it deserved to be posted anyway. We don't always end up with the best outcome, but the effort to shoot and edit it is often what's important.

Shot alongside @jimabels on a freezing cold, mostly cloudy night with an hour or so of clear skies.

I've been absent lately on here. I take breaks from social media because my brain injury sometimes leaves my brain overwhelmed and overloaded. My apologies!

I spent a couple of days regrouping by heading to Assateague to shoot the Milky Way - such a beautiful and peaceful place. We were hit by clouds both nights, but managed to get some shots.

We were at the Naturalist Shack scouting spots for blue hour, but taking in the gorgeous sunset. I turned around and saw the sunset shining through the shack window. I couldn't believe my luck and managed to capture it. Made my day! What do you think?

Five years ago, an accident shattered my body—
a brain bleed, a broken back, and the loss of a life I once knew.

Six months later, I picked up a camera, and light began stitching my mind back together ✨Learning became healing. Creation became memory 🧠

Three years ago, I turned my lens to the stars.
I couldn’t focus. I couldn’t remember.
But night after night, I stood beneath the sky
and made a promise to myself—to keep reaching 🤩🔭

Inspired by those who walk this path before me, including my friend @jimabels,I finally captured my dreamscape: Barnard’s Loop and Orion rising over the Barnegat Jetty — on a bitter, wind-whipped night that tested both body and will.

Endlessly grateful to @dmpfeiffer_photography for the steady support, braving the 🥶 and shared starlight 🌟

This isn’t the end of my story.
It’s only the beginning.
The sky is still calling—and I’m answering ✨
