Jimi Hendrix Crash Landing 1975 Japan Polydor MP 2495 — the album finished four years after he died.

Hendrix died in September 1970. The overdubs on this record were cut in 1974.

Producer Alan Douglas took unfinished 1968–70 studio tapes and hired session musicians to replace the original bass and drums. Only Jimi's vocals and guitar survived the process.

The proof is printed on the back cover of this copy. Jeff Mironov, guitar. Bob Babbit, bass. Allan Schwartzberg, drums. Jimmy Maeulen, percussion. None of them ever played with Hendrix.

Some of these tracks were later reissued with the original players restored. This pressing is the 1975 version — the one people still argue about.

So is this a Hendrix album, or a 1975 studio record with Hendrix on it? Send this to the collector who has an opinion.

So, here’s how it was the very first time Jimi Hendrix performed for a London crowd when he sat in with my band The Trinity at The Cromwellian Club!

This is an excerpt from a 2010 interview with Stagg Street Videos on You Tube

I’ve been revisiting my guitar roots lately. #jimihendrix ‘s beautiful rhythm guitar playing is often overlooked. Here’s some licks I stole from his tune “Have You Ever Been to Electric Ladyland”

Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix💜
Remembering the Guitar God and pioneer, Jimi Hendrix🙌💜 who flew to the purple skies on September 18, 1970.😪🙏🕊️ I love Jimi. He changed Everything.🎸 He wrote this gem, released in 1968 with The Jimi Hendrix Experience. One of my favorite songs.💜 I was first introduced to it by Derek and the Dominos on Layla. They covered it as a tribute to Jimi. It's a stunning rendition💜🙌🙏🕊️

The usual disclaimers to please disregard any snap, crackle, or pops, shuffles, sound level issues, etc. This was sung on a cheap pair of headphones, using a karaoke app, on my cheap phone. No auto-tune/ai/sound effects, edits used. I need to hear how I really sound. It's part of my healing journey. No money is being made from my generic cover. I'm just paying tribute to the music I love.💜

My shadowban and I thank you for the support🙏💜

Jimi Hendrix arrived in England on September 24, 1966.

By January, members of The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Cream were already showing up to watch him play.

Then came Are You Experienced, Monterey, Axis: Bold as Love, Electric Ladyland and Woodstock.

From his arrival in England to his death on September 18, 1970: 1,455 days.

Feedback. Distortion. Wah. Amplification.

Hendrix did not invent all of them. He showed how far they could be pushed.

56 years gone.

Jimi Hendrix, 1942–1970.
