1974 Popbilder Utan Punkt sealed unopened pack with Jimi Hendrix showing on top PSA 6

These packs were distributed in Sweden in the 1970’s. This is one of only two that have been graded by @psacard to date.

Hendrix’s historical impact on music is well documented. His innovative style helped redefine the guitar and popular music. He helped to break barriers during a deeply divided era. His finger prints are embedded in Rock and roll history as he has influenced the likes of Prince, Tom Morello, Eddie Van Halen, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and many modern hip-hop producers who are still sampling his work.

JIMI HENDRIX WITH HIS FIRST LEFT HANDED GUITAR MADE FOR HIM BY GIBSON: Hey Mitch, HEY JOE, Hey Jimi, HEY JOE, Hey Noel! Mitch stumbles, he’s climbing to a high. Mitch winces as Jimi hits his crash cymbal with the Flying V he received that day incoming from Kalamazoo and as Mitch pretends to go after him for banging his cymbals Jimi gets to grips with intuitive ambidexterity and plays a lefty guitar (Gibson made it for Jimi as a symmetrical guitar strung for left handed player) left-handed for once in his life! Jimi could play a right handed guitar upside down straight reversed, he could also play a right handed guitar upside down but strung for a lefty and every combination of left and right handed guitar strung reversed or straight! #mimingforengland #miming #playback #jimihendrix

What a blast it was to visit Jimi Hendrix’ flat at @handelandhendrix 23 Brook Street, London!

Between 1968 and 1969 Hendrix lived on the top floors of this Mayfair townhouse with his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham.

His flat was next door to the home of baroque composer George Frideric Handel who was the first occupant of 25 Brook Street in 1723 until his death there in 1759. This fact really blew Hendrix away and at one point thought he had his ghost come through the wall!

This amazing museum incorporates the life stories of two of the world’s greatest composers in a way that you can appreciate what it was like to live here during those eras.

Hendrix’ bedroom, where he spent a lot of time in bed (he didn’t tend to get up until around 2pm), writing songs or hanging out with musician friends, has been recreated from old photographs and has an authentic feel with precise attention to detail such as having a copy of Hendrix’ favourite Victorian shawl over the bed.

The spare room which was used by famous visitors as a bar with bottles on the window ledge, incorporates Hendrix’ vinyl record collection and includes all his UK gig dates including his two appearances in Stockport in 1967 at The Sinking Ship and The Tabernacle Club.

While we were there we enjoyed dressing up (choose from Hendrix or Handel-inspired attire) and listening to an excellent guitarist playing Hendrix classics. Check out his version of Purple Haze on the last image.

We loved how @handelandhendrix was so absorbing for the visitor with huge photographic displays across on the walls, press cuttings and memorabilia.

If you’re in London and looking for a music-inspired attraction, this is well worth a visit, just a couple of minutes walk from Bond Street tube station. 🎸 🎤 💜
