Sunday, October 11, 2026 - Pennsylvania Boxing Hall Of Fame - 69th Annual Induction Class

Philadelphia Ballroom- 2014 Hornig Road - Phila. PA 19116.

Charles “Cornbread” Ramey, Trainer and my second father - the man who was recognized in 2020 by Mayor
Jim Kenny of Philadelphia with a “Hero Award” for over 50 years of dedication and hard work- training and mentoring young people through boxing at Shepard Recreation Center & Marian Anderson Recreation Center.

Listen folks, I now can say that my trainer is a Hall of Famer!

The man who traces his training lineage to the great Jack Blackburn - trainer of Joe Louis, World Heavyweight Champion - is now a Hall of Famer like his “father” and “grandfather.”

Allow me to explain - Ramey was trained by arguably Philadelphia’s greatest trainer - the late, great Jimmy Arthur who learned under the tutelage and guidance of Jack Blackburn!

Thus, Blackburn is Ramey’s “Grandfather” in the lineage of trainers.

Cornbread’s resume after over a half a century is so long that I would need a book to give it justice.

However, I am here to tell you that he is such a great trainer and strategist that he once trained a three-legged mouse to beat a cat!!

The man can dissect every style and put a plan together to be victorious!

He was a little bit under the weather and unable to make it however we all came out to celebrate him!

Congratulations Corn! You are a Living Legend and Hall of Famer!
