Great night kicking off the Hyannis Port Summer Supper Club series from Point Breeze Kitchen! We had a great menu and wine pairings that went really well. But most importantly it was about bringing old friends together to share some quality. It may have been raining, but I think it was from all of the tears of laughter.

We kicked things off with some savory sacristans and a butter course made by Maeve that featured Chianti-infused butter and a Tuscan herb butter. That was followed by:

Beet, Peach and Buratta salad with prosciutto paired with AIX rose.

Pasta alla Zozzona (a great mashup of Gricia, Amatricianna, and Carbonara sauces with rigatoni). Served with a 2016 Castello di Nieve Barbaresco.

Swordfish BLT with grilled corn and a corn purée served with a Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

A summer fruit tart from #MHCBaking paired with a 2013 Vin Santo del Chianti Riserva from Pierre Casale that worked well together.

Thinking back to the brutally hot summer of 2005, that I spent drawing (and sweating) on Governors Island with the New York Studio School. A huge thank you to Carl Scorza who put me on the list to take the ferry.

A painting of my Studio School classmate, the talented Jim Plunkett, sitting on the orange couch in my studio. I was playing with the warm flesh tones on top of the cool blue ground of the canvas.

BLUE SURF DUDE: oil on acrylic on canvas, 48 x 36 inches, 2018. Available for purchase.

The artist Jim Plunkett, the man, the myth, NYSS graduate, legend, came by the studio the other day and looked so good in his plaid shirt, beaming energy, standing in a field of grid based artworks, I had to get a shot!! @jimplunkett_
