@njpac DODGE POETRY FESTIVAL 2026

Panel : Poetry & Survival

Featuring: @jivepoetic , @julianthepoet , @melidarodaspoet

Hosted by: @vida_marroquin

A look back at Poetry and Survival — a panel that held space for the words we carry, the worlds we endure, and the quiet, radical ways we keep going. Through every verse, a testament to the power of language to hold us, heal us, and help us imagine beyond survival.

Today I cried listening to the poetic wisdom of @ajamonet , @poemsandcake , @acevedowrites and @danez_smif . I had a beautiful praise poetry workshop with @poetamandajohnston , watched @jivepoetic perform his powerful work in a church, and shared my own poems with an amazingly supportive audience.

Thank you, Dodge Poetry Festival and @dodgefoundation You guys made a poet very happy.

We listened, we giggled, we snuggled, we shared. Felt good to be silly and sincere and serious all in one breath.

@fahertybrand wrapped us in their generous arms (and scarves) and I’ll spend the next year savoring these days where time and hearts stretched.

& @kerrydocherty @iamjoelleon @s_ariza, thank you for being my fairy godmothers 🪞
