A wiiild musical ride for Unheard’s season closer, thanks to Emilio and his friends for exploring so freely. As @emiliolmodeste put it, it felt like “a very important moment for the world” and we are grateful to those of you in the room who joined us for it.

That’s it for Unheard but it will be back next year, stay tuned 👀🧡

Sat, Oct 10th / @lightandsounddesign / bit.ly/unheard20 or link in bio

𝚄𝚗𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚍 is a music series exploring listening, curiosity, and spontaneity through collaborative improvisation. Each season, an artist-in-residence leads in-the-round performances with rotating multi-instrumentalists.

For the final edition of his 2026 residency, saxophonist and composer Emilio Modeste (INSTANT ALTER, Kassa Overall, Stanley Clarke) brings together master fusion percussionist Daniel Moreno, fellow Wallace Roney Quintet alum Ben Solomon on woodwinds and keys, saxophonist Jordan Young on woodwinds, and Philly-rooted keyboardist Black Buttafly on sound design, with maybe a few more names still to make the bill…

Unheard will be held in a private loft in Greenpoint with a vintage 4-point Klipsch sound system and comfortable seating.

I Am a Performing Artist and I ❤️ it!

When the audience and the artist are locked within the dialogue of a performance, thats when the Arts Live!

That transference of energy and inspiration is the best. It’s the community and connection of a shared moment! It’s ⚡️in a bottle 🙏🏾

@samplesalemusic we exist at the nexxus of Black Music and represent the continuum of our musical heritage.

Our goal explore the music and the samples that evolved into modern genres.

In 1993 @wutangclan @methodmanofficial caught ⚡️in a bottle with #methodman

In the song, we hear elements of ‘Functional’ by #theloniousmonk and #johncoltrane from a recording in 1957 when they captured ⚡️in a bottle , never to record together except this one album.

We blend them together live as if we were our DJ @dotimus.prime and the result is an energetic celebration of the continuum of Black Music and culture.
