About a year ago, I was scratching at the walls of my enclosure to return to acting. (I had taken a break to pursue music. One thing led to another and all of a sudden, I hadn’t acted in two years…) Then, I had the amazing opportunity to step into @alexnherz ‘s brilliant world and be in a film called “My Girlfriend Turned Into a Worm.” Best premise ever, and a massive thank you to Alex for letting me be a part of your magic!!!!!!!🪱 It is a weird, sad, and hilarious short film about worms and grief and it is SO good because of all the genius people who worked on it. One year and one festival season later, and it is out now on youtube!!!🪱🪱

MEET THE CHERUBZZZ FILMMAKERS🎥 ANGELS by @sammymandich Sam Mandich is a biracial writer, director, and dancer from Long Beach, California. Her work explores belonging and identity through an intimate, physical lens rooted in movement and emotional realism. A graduate of the American Film Institute’s MFA Directing program and the Paris College of Art’s MA Photography program, Sam was selected to represent AFI’s 2025 class at the Telluride Film Festival for her distinct filmmaking voice. Before filmmaking, Sam spent years performing and choreographing in New York, training under the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, an experience that continues to shape her instinct for rhythm, gesture, and corporeal storytelling. Her work blends social realism with visceral lyricism, often centering youth, vulnerability, and the tensions of coming of age. Most recently, Sam was a part of the inaugural cohort of Square Peg Social, led by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen. She was also selected as one of eight female directors to receive the Proof of Concept Accelerator Grant from Netflix and Dirty Films (Cate Blanchett & Coco Francini). She currently has two feature films in development with her writing partner Annabel Newland. Sam’s filmmaking seeks to center underrepresented perspectives, to honor the beauty of the mundane, and to look beneath the familiar aesthetics of girlhood to explore the nuanced forces of identity, belonging and desire. For her, collaboration is an act of trust, care and community. She believes that cinema is where empathy takes form, and is one of the greatest tools in reminding people they are not alone. MUNCHIES by @thebrittanyyouknow Brittany Alexia Young is a Florida-born filmmaker based in LA telling genre-blending, coming-of-age films following black, queer protagonists — without centering trauma. Following her career playing Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Delaware, she earned her MFA at Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts. Her films have screened at festivals including Palm Springs International ShortFest, NewFest, and the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, where she received an audience award and the
