It's alive! From the bottom of our happy hearts, thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the launch of The Squiggle Collection. We had cake and booze and crafts and laughs, it was a very good day. The Squiggle is meant to be playful. What started as a brainstorming exercise in how we could use the Memphis-style squiggle incorporated into the logo has taken on a life of its own--- one that's both a little silly and a little elegant. This is us dipping our toe in the water of original product with more to come. For now, we hope you find your own bit of joy with the Squiggle and pass it on to those around you. Life is too short and too hard to be boring. And the Mini Machine is wicked fun - so many grown adults made actual squeals of joy when they got a mini Squiggle (they're crazy cute collectibles). And we had a special surprise on launch day- we rolled out our three (3) original jar candle scents in two very fabulous designs. Stop in to sniff for yourself We're so grateful to our friends and family for showing up and showing out, whether it was schlepping and prepping, taking photos, feeding us, bringing bouquets, sending delegates from their businesses to cheer us on, and generally bringing the vibes. We shopped local to make this event happen and we're so proud to be a part of this community. Cheers, to being the zhush you want to see in the world. xoxo JohnnyCakes #zhush #johnnycakes #candlelover #plantlover #instax #polaroid

On this National Simplicity Day, taking a moment to step back, take a deep breath and honor two of my most favorite simple pleasures: fresh floral beauties and that morning light☀️ “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage—to move in the opposite direction.” — E. F. I did a podcast with my dear friend Jenn judkins. Jenn lost her dad, a first responder a few years after 9/11/2001. She started a podcast, theripplepodcast.com in remembrance of her dad and all others from 911. She interviewed Russ and I, as it was our hood, battery park city that was attacked. We had to evacuate after tower1 fell...this is our story.... on theripplepodcast.com. #911 #september11 #batterparkcity #neverforget #jennjudkins #iloveny

Jennifer Judkin is a Brooklyn based podcaster, photographer, and dedicated volunteer. We were so glad to talk with her and see the stunning photos she’d taken during her time in our warehouse! . “It has been lovely working with Met Council at the food bank during this time. Like many others, I haven’t had much work in the past few months, allowing for more time to give back. Since the food bank is located in my neighborhood, it was a safe way to provide assistance to others who may have been impacted by this virus more than I was. I feel very fortunate to have found a place where help is needed during this difficult time in our world.” . Thank you to Jennifer and the rest of our generous volunteers! We couldn’t do the work we do without your commitment and selflessness. . To see more of Jennifer’s work, follow her at @jjuds or @theripplepodcast. . . . . . #Greenpoint #Brooklyn #covid19response #kosherfoodpantry
