Route of the Month: Dawn Patrol to East Peak

There’s something special about starting your ride before sunrise. This month’s route is the Dawn Patrol, a favorite local tradition that begins in downtown Mill Valley and climbs all the way to the East Peak lookout on Mount Tamalpais just in time to watch the sun rise.

The climb is challenging, but the reward is worth every pedal stroke. Along the way, you’ll ride quiet roads, pass through towering redwoods, and watch the sky gradually light up before reaching one of the best panoramic viewpoints in Marin. After taking in the sunrise, it’s all downhill back to Mill Valley, with a well-earned coffee stop to finish the morning at Equator Coffees.

The details:
• Starts in Downtown Mill Valley
• Climbs to East Peak (Mount Tamalpais)
• Around 3,182 ft of climbing
• Road ride
• Best ridden before sunrise
• Great for riders looking for a rewarding climb and unforgettable views

Along the way, you'll pass through:
• Downtown Mill Valley
• Cascade Canyon
• Marion Avenue
• Four Corners
• Pantoll Station
• East Peak Lookout
• Panoramic views of San Francisco and the Bay

If you're looking for an early morning adventure that combines a challenging climb, incredible sunrise views, and one of Marin's most iconic cycling experiences, the Dawn Patrol should be on your ride list. Check out @dawnpatroltam.

Finally, a few shout outs for joining the ride and being part of this video: @dedwards1211 for help with 🎥 at 5:45am, @kemi_._ for always bringing the good vibes, @freudalf for seeing us off, @jesscerra & @boardmanito for rallying while visiting us, @mttamgrams and @heatherrosescott for welcoming us at the top with more good vibes, and @jjungsten for making this happening and being the Dawn Father!

See you next month for the next Route of the Month.

✨JUST SOLD — 107 Mount Tiburon, Tiburon, CA ✨

When we envisioned how we were going to bring a vacant lot to life, we introduced new technology into our marketing video and it made all the difference.

We’re constantly pushing to innovate, and it’s through conversations with our incredible real estate colleagues at @sothebysrealty that we share ideas and collaborate on what truly works. This property had sat on the market for over a year before we took over the listing. Once we did, we secured our buyer in just 1 week after he saw our video because the site and the future home just made sense to him.🙏🏼

You’ve probably heard “who you work with matters” and yes, it can sound like a cliché. But here’s what we actually mean by that:

We don’t just list properties. We tell their story. We invest in the vision of what a home can be, not just what it is today, because the right buyer isn’t buying land, they’re buying a future.🎬

That’s the difference. And that’s what we bring to every listing. 🤍

🏷️ Sold for $2,725,000

🚴 Route of the Month: Old Railroad Grade

Mill Valley locals know this ride is more than just a challenge—it’s a rite of passage! The climb up Mount Tamalpais on Old Railroad Grade is my go-to for breathtaking views and a rewarding ride.

🏔️ History: Back in the day, it was known as the "Crookedest Railroad in the World," It was built in 1896 and operated from 1896 to 1930. It ran from Mill Valley to the east peak of Mount Tamalpais. The 8.19-mile track featured 281 curves and 22 trestles. The railroad was a popular tourist attraction, allowing visitors to reach the summit and explore the surrounding area.

🌟 Why I Love It:
✨ Sweeping vistas of the Bay Area and Pacific Ocean
✨ It never gets steep...well, because it used to get tourist to the top of Mt Tam by rail.
✨ A community favorite—you’re bound to spot fellow cyclists on the way up!

Whether you’re tackling it for the first time or revisiting a classic, this ride will leave you inspired and ready for more.

📍 Pro Tip: Pace yourself - the fastest riders get it done in under an hour, but it can easily take longer. Start too fast and you'll fade towards the top. Don’t forget to snap a photo at the summit! 📸

Scroll left to see a few photos from my phone. Have you conquered Mt. Tam yet? Share your favorite routes or tag me in your photos—I’d love to see your adventure! 🌲🏔️
