🇺🇸 Hometown Heroes | Snowbird Living USA 250 For our USA 250 issue, we wanted to do something a little different. Normally, our featured story highlights a snowbird couple, but for an issue celebrating 250 years of America, we felt there was no better time to recognize some of the incredible people who have served our country. We were honored to share the stories of Terry LaFlamme, Jim Sievert, and Bob Wheeler in our latest issue and here on our page. We only wish we could have highlighted them all. That’s another thing that makes Ave Maria so special — so many of our neighbors have served our country, each with a story and sacrifice of their own. And that spirit of service continues with the next generation. Derba Boivin, a recent graduate of Ave Maria University, is beginning a new chapter with the United States Marine Corps. Ave Maria University is a place that encourages young men and women to discern their vocation and answer the call to serve — whether that calling leads to family life, religious life, a profession, or, as in Derba’s case, service to our country. From one generation to the next, we’re proud to celebrate those who answer the call. 🇺🇸 These are our hometown heroes. Thank you for your service. #avemariaflorida #avemariafl #usa #usa250 #florida

We proudly celebrate and recognize the commissioning of Second Lieutenants Boivin and Tesluk from @avemariauniv 🇺🇸 Both completed the Platoon Leaders Class (PLC), an officer training pathway that develops college students into future Marine leaders through rigorous training at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia in the summer to not interfere with their studies. Both Lieutenants will continue their career at The Basic School in September where they will learn more about the Marine Corps and ultimately earn their future job. Their commissioning reflects years of discipline, sacrifice, and commitment to serving something greater than themselves. Congratulations, Gentlemen! 🫡 Semper Fidelis 🦅🌎⚓️
