Closing out the month of May with something I know I will never forget — my own signature cocktail by @929.nyc, inspired by my story, my work, and the different parts of who I am. 🍷 Truly such an immense honor. Thank you, @haoranchen_! 🫶🏻

This drink feels deeply personal to me: lychee notes inspired by the flavors I naturally gravitate toward, floral St-Germain and smoky peated whisky to reflect the contrast between softness and heaviness, and the influence of the emotional Filipino love songs and heartbreak ballads I grew up listening to. Even the roselle red wine injected into the cocktail carries meaning - balancing the drink while symbolizing blood, the source of life, and a quiet nod to my work as a nurse. 🩸🇵🇭

So grateful to all my friends who came out throughout the last month to try the cocktail and celebrate this moment with me (even those not pictured). I am so incredibly lucky! ❤️

Service is often mistaken as something transactional — a plate dropped, a garment sold, a cocktail served. But at its most compelling, service is performance, intimacy, and subtle storytelling. For this issue of NABI, we wanted to explore service not as an industry function, but as a cultural language, one that moves through fashion, food, relationships, and the evolving social culture of New York City.

Thank you @newyorkasianfilmfestival for having me at your Innovators and Icons Soirée! ❤️

What a heartwarming night amidst the New York cold seeing NYAFF friends (so reminiscent of July film festival season!), having delicious bites (@soothr_nyc @soothr.lic @lumlumnyc @falansai @kopitiamnyc @doublecrispybakery @spotdessertbar), and hearing from a star-studded panel (award-winning @vickynguyentv of @nbcnews, ‘Pachinko’ executive producer @soozhugh, @creativeartistsagency literary agent @kevhlin, and @luckylufilm director @lloydleechoi)! 🙌🏻
