Some days on the water are about more than just catching fish. Today was one of those days. 🎣

I got to take some longtime friends, my mentor, and someone who has always been like a dad to me fishing. He was the one who originally taught me how to fish, and today I got the opportunity to return the favor and put him, his son, and his grandson on some fish.

Three generations. One boat. A whole lot of memories and a day of absolutely killing it. 🐟🔥

Pretty special getting to share the passion that he passed down to me with the next generation. Days like today are what it’s all about.

Thank you for trusting me to put you guys on fish! 🎣❤️

Less than a year and a half out from having a stroke, and I’m saying YES to new <hard> things.

Thanks to @jkc81879 for being such an amazingly supportive friend and cheerleader and helping me to get out of my comfort zone and onto a boat to do a hard thing (for me) for the first time.

And a huge thank you to Steve Mills @fishy_mills for helping me to land my first big fish! 🎣

This mother of a Chinook Salmon didn’t give up without a fight, but I managed to reel her in all on my own. At one point, I didn’t think I could do it, I didn’t have the strength or dexterity or leverage or balance, I was exhausted and my arms were shaking. I almost gave up and handed her off to someone else but I said FUCK NO MAMA THIS ONE’S FOR ME.

And I did it. Something I never thought I would do. Especially after surviving a stroke just last year. It feels pretty damn good and the accomplishment is a boost to my soul that I needed. Being on the water all day. Feeling the sun and the breeze on my skin. All medicine for my soul.

I have the feeling this is going to be the best damn salmon I’ve ever eaten. And I have a LOT of her to eat bc she was SO BIG!!!

Spring Chinook season in the Columbia Gorge!! So many smiles, nonstop laughs, and just the right amount of chaos 😂 From early mornings to chrome fish hitting the deck, it’s been an absolute blast sharing these moments with such an awesome group of people. Beyond thankful for everyone who’s climbed in the boat this season and made memories with us. The fishing has been incredible, but the people and the fun along the way are what make it all worth it. 🎣

And as always @outdoorsvip and @hanfordreachoutdoors spinner blades have been putting in overtime! @ultimate_shrimp_cure has been absolutely doing work this season 🔥

SOUL- filled ✔️. 1 cozy cabin. 2 great friends (that can bait their own hook and gut a fish 💪🏼… AND COOK!). Beautiful nature. Buying fresh Chinook right out of the river from the native Indians was such a treat #klickitatriver #yakamanation #rivertotable #homecooked #fisherwomen

Watching @jkc81879 land her first steelhead was one of the most moving moments of the riverbank I’ve ever had. The water truly has a way of healing and allowing one to leave it all behind ✌🏼
