Attending the creator Society, LA animation, social in North Hollywood! A fabulous opportunity I took in being able to not only network, but also share stories, play games, and share laughs with creative of all kinds, such as animators, Story Artist, voice, actors, and other industry people! It also made me feel assured that I am not alone in the challenges in making my dream of working in the animation industry come true! Getting closer and closer, slowly, but surely! 😁😁🎨🎨✍️✍️✨✨

“These auditions are equal parts strategy, surprise, and craft.” - Brandon English
This workshop was a master class in all areas of voiceover— not just dubbing. Brandon worked with each student individually and helped us find honest reads that will make auditions stand out to casting! We all learned so much. Thank you for everyone who came! You rocked it 🎙️

Colleagues, Clients and Gurus, oh my!

Looking back at the NAVA Gala from Dec. 2023, this was a night for the history books for me. The first annual NAVA Gala, held at the @thegarland Hotel, in N Hollywood was decked out with so many wonderful touches (many carrying the tasteful fingerprint of @caringilfry ). The [A] Garland Ballroom was populated with so many friends mingling, connecting, laughing, hugging, lifting each other up, celebrating each other AND raising money for the efforts of @navavoices . This post is only a cross section of the people I connected with that night (not the first post, not the last — more to come). Take a tour with me: [B] volunteer, @jlangholt (Julia and I share a great connection - we have a ton in common), [C] NAVA Secretary & Operations Dir Matthew @slimdareazon Parham (this man is a dynamo - he delivered an empassioned speech & entertained us with song) - I respect this man to my core, [D] I was so happy to see @thekatesea who has taken my Tour of Dialects™ class! Great to connect with her! [E] Ah, @tasiavalenza . One of my carefully-curated & trusted coaches and a dear friend & guru. [F] When I gave a speech in receipt of the Be Brad Voiceover Community Award, I took a comedic shot at cherished guru & friend, @bergen.bob (you know Bob’s work as the voice of Porky Pig & Tweety Bird among many other roles). I rolled the dice he would get my joke and, as our history proved (because we are SO MUCH of the same mind on so many things), he did - such a good sport. Further, that we could share a great conversation later in the night, was such a gift. [G] @marajunot & @jordansvoice were the Voices of God for the event; Mara received a surpise award honoring their tremendous generosity to NAVA & NAVA’s mission. [H] @scottparkinactor co-hosted the auction with @parkinart and, in classic form, carried on some running gags from even my speech. This guy cracks me up; I’m glad he’s in my corner.

Had an absolutely fabulous weekend at @tomkstudios’s 3 Day intensive “Spark of the Self”, and this magnificent group of humans were so talented, vulnerable, and willing to do really in depth work that the experience has me rethinking my whole approach to acting and auditions. Tom is a master of his craft and learning from him is a gamechanger. 10/10 would recommend 👍🥰🥹💯 #acting #workshop #meisner #videogames

Thank you @tomkstudios for putting together this magnificent intensive workshop, “Spark of the Self”. Thank you for leading us and guiding us through our processes. I felt so embraced and supported. Everyone in this picture brought their very best, with open hearts, open minds, and a collective spirit conducive to growth, collaboration, camaraderie, exploration, risk taking and courage. What an amazingly talented group of professionals. I am so proud of being among you. My admiration, respect and gratitude to you all. I wish you all the very best on your journeys!!

My Cup is beyond filled from this past weekend with all these wonderful people in an Intensive Workshop focused on acting in Performance Capture (but really...it's also being a better effective human!)

Big thanks to Tom for leading a group of brave performers to try things, fail, and succeed. Everyone grew as actors in these 3 days, and I'm beyond happy to have made some new friends and learned some things about my craft.

"Do the doings."
