the past few years I’ve been taking the summer off from posting
but
I was here reading and reposting you guys
and also reposting political stuff

I have missed you all 🫶🏻

my summer was pretty chill considering the madness
that is consuming us all

I live in a 12 month vacation land here in socal
blessed by
living so close to all sorts of nature
and city life

and most importantly
surrounded
by family
my furry fam and a feast of friends

Nietzsche once said
“what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger”
which seems to apply these days

we are about to experience a super El Niño
starting next month to last all winter

I don’t know if you guys have been following it
but it’s supposed to affect the whole planet

it sounds a bit terrifying

supposedly the northern states in this country
will experience severe droughts and wildfires
and us down here massive floods

just be prepared and well stocked with food
water and medical supplies

the nerd in me has been following this for almost a year 🤓

life is beautiful but borrowed

I believe in humanity
in love
passion
the arts

I believe in us
in you and in me

I love this tribe and all of you in it
many whom I have known for years now

we’ve shared so much of our lives with one another
the joys
the sadness and the madness
and that is beautiful

also I’ve been writing in journals (not typing)
getting back to the basics
and it’s so refreshing and rewarding

I watched CNN’s Anderson and Andy Cohen’s
July 4th eve show last night
which was hilarious
it aired from times square in nyc

loved watching the big crystal ball go down at midnight
celebrating
America’s 250th birthday💥

trump ruined
our original bipartisan 250th
changed it completely
using our tax dollars
to make it
all about himself

and nobody showed up
at his lame boring state fair *giggles
one of the pavilions
not joking here
had confederate flags in it (north carolina)

we are in another revolution
not with muskets
but with this current administration

we will win in november ✊🏻
even with all the rigging
musk and him
are so desperately trying to do
(they both fear jail time)
and rightfully so

I need to see the sea
then enjoy pool and grill time at home

most of the month of june in socal
has what we call june gloom

not being a sun person
I love these days

it’s days when clouds kiss the mountains
and dance down to the canyons ☁️
the mornings are beautifully dark

the sea when embraced by coastal clouds has such a mysterious vibe

I love it and I also love the blues 🎶

summer is here and she is feisty
her nights sexy
exposing her lover’s moons
and flamboyant dancing stars

as a small child walking in nyc
some sidewalks had shiny sparkles
embedded into the concrete

they would sparkle at night
as I gleefully stepped on them

my dad told me
that they were fallen stardust

the sea is an escape I need from all the insanity rn
sounds of her hypnotic waves
tuning out
all of the madness and worries swirling in my head

I’ve never been a big sports fan
but watching New York win was truly exciting

as some of you know
I grew up in NYC
but now live in the LA area

truly a bicoastal girl *smiles

I love the reflections of palm trees
superimposed
in the mirror with me
that’s home now 🌴

even though I’ve been on the west coast longer
I’ll always be a new york city girl

I believe where we start out as children
raised
in that particular town or city
I believe that’s home for a lot of us

I love California for her diversity
her beauty

nature
her innovative soul

growing up in NYC
exposed me
along with my parents
to the arts

I learned to read
write
play piano
and dance there

I love the plethora of world famous museums
restaurants
broadway plays
the New York philharmonic
dance companies
jazz clubs
plus so much more
are all so amazing there

there’s a few pretty bad wildfires happening in socal rn

this one is about 20-30 miles away
so we’re safe

the earth is hot and she is pissed
it’s only going to get worse
especially with this administration’s science deniers 😑

we’re not near this one
but you can see the massive smoke plume in these pics
taken from my backyard

the sun is on fire
with a burnt orange ring around it
giving it that eerie apocalyptic glow

our firefighters are rockstars and true heroes
they are the best in the world
(in recent years we’ve been on fire a lot) 😵‍💫

whatever your views are on climate change
to me it is real af

I included a pic of hawks that come to my house daily
they love raw chicken
and actually come with clicking calls

again it’s fine where I am but smoky
I do love it here
it is wild and beautiful
