I suppose it’s time to share the heartbreaking news that we lost the sweetest old man ever last weekend. When we adopted Odin in 2013, we were planning to adopt an older dog, but Odin was making eyes at us and impossible to leave behind.

He became my office dog, my school dog, my fake (and real) emotional support dog. He loved being part of the party almost as much as he loved being a mama’s boy. I will miss his underbite, his sweet nonstop kisses, and his trotting to greet me each day. ❤️‍🩹

Summer recap 😭💖

Got settled at my new job, decided to focus on things that were in my control, got healthier and proved that 30s > 20s, started pre-production on my next short film, saw some of the best shows of my life, pulled a lot of tarot cards, improved my expectations. Definitely one for the books.

2025, you were a bitch.

I’ll remember this year as one of mostly bad news. I’ll also remember how proud I am for how I responded to the bad news.

In between the bad news, I finally got to travel for film festivals for the first time since my pandemic run, which was a huge highlight. I got into shape and made huge improvements on my health. I did more roadtrips than ever before and finally got to explore Yosemite. I watched some of my closest friends welcome babies into the world. I saw ALL of my siblings and parents. I survived my first sober bachelorette party. I saw more concerts (Rilo Kiley, Waxahatchee, Big Thief, AJJ, Murder By Death, Lucius to name a few) than I have in YEARS. I traveled to Brazil and had the best time. I directed a music video and solidified plans for my feature this year.

Fuck ICE forever.

I’m ready for you, 2026.

Okay I guess I’m finally ready to admit that Summer is over.

WHAT A BUSY SUMMER. Film festivals, cat trappings, resisting fascism, lots of roadtrips, celebrating milestones. Hope every summer can be like this minus the fascism. Always my favorite time of the year ☀️
