ORIGINALITY IS A TEAM SPORT.

Three design teams. Around eighteen full-scale models. A shared ambition taking shape.

In Roberto Mazza’s 22 October interview for Auto & Design, Jaguar’s Andrew Wheel describes the collaboration behind Type 01.

“You achieve them through collaboration, with a shared purpose and vision.”

For me, this is where design becomes powerful: different minds challenging, refining and building something with a clear identity.

Proportion. Material. Shared purpose.

ONE VISION TAKES MANY MINDS.

COPY NOTHING - Originality runs in the family.

Looking at these Jaguars together, I see a shared attitude: elegance, confidence and the courage to create something distinctive.

Each has its own expression. Each gives you a reason to stop and look.

For me, the Type 01 carries that spirit forward. A new silhouette, with a familiar sense of occasion.

The family resemblance is in the confidence.

Five Jaguars. Which one would you drive home?

Some shapes have to be engineered into existence.

In Design News, Dan Carney explores how Jaguar’s design ambition pushed its engineers to find new solutions.

The low roofline, long bonnet and sculpted body demanded inventive battery packaging and complex manufacturing. Beneath those calm surfaces lies considerable work.

Carney sees a fresh visual direction as essential to reaching a new generation of Jaguar buyers. His reporting shows the technical commitment behind that ambition.

Our reading: this is where automotive design becomes architecture. Structure, space and proportion working towards a recognisable presence.

Which detail gives Type 01 its strongest sense of identity?

EYES CLOSED. STILL A JAGUAR.

Composure. Steering with weight. Power in reserve.

In Wayne Scott’s prototype assessment, those qualities connect the new Type 01 with the V12 XJ Coupé.

My reading: beneath the new design, the Jaguar character is already there.

A new shape. A Jaguar feeling.

Which quality makes a Jaguar unmistakable to you?

BEAUTY GETS YOUR ATTENTION. COMFORT EARNS YOUR TIME.

In photographs, the Jaguar Type 01 has extraordinary presence. The long bonnet. The sculpted shoulders. The confidence of its proportions.

But a grand tourer is also a place to spend hours.

How you enter. Where your hands rest. The space around you. How you feel when the door closes.

Like a beautiful watch, the design draws you in. Living with it is where the relationship begins.

I want to experience that next chapter before judging it.

Would you trade some space for a silhouette this distinctive?

ONE OF A KIND.

A long bonnet. Sculpted shoulders. A signature written in red light.

The Jaguar Type 01 gives the eye plenty to explore—and a silhouette to remember.

What draws me to a great watch draws me here too: proportion, detail and the confidence to have a character of its own.

For me, that is where desire begins. You look once for the shape. Again for the details. Then imagine it becoming part of your life.

One of a kind. But is it your kind?
