Show Your Work III | Paradise Maintenance Documentary For most of my career, the focus has been on branding. But with Paradise Maintenance, I challenged myself to become a better designer. Not just someone with ideas, but someone committed to developing the craft behind them. In the past, the design process was small. One or two creatives shaping the direction. This time I intentionally opened it up, bringing in different creatives that I admired. From childhood friends who helped me sketch ideas in the airport on the way to Something In The Water, to artists I discovered online whose work pushed the visual identity of the brand. Designers, strategists, and trusted peers who weren’t afraid to question what was in front of them. Creative direction isn’t about having every answer. It’s about knowing when to activate the right person, when to lean into someone else’s perspective, and when to step back and allow the work to evolve through collaboration. There were moments I thought the collection was finished, only for someone I trust to challenge it and push it further, encouraging me to adjust colors, rethink certain pieces, and make sure the collection worked together as a whole, expanding beyond what originally started as a handful of graphics into something more complete. Paradise Maintenance became the most collaborative design process I’ve ever been a part of. More voices, more perspectives, and more refinement than any collection before it. As creatives, inspiration can always push us to keep going. But at some point it takes courage to put the pen down and say, it is finished. And when that moment comes, all you can ask yourself is one question: Did you give it your best? Grateful for every creative who helped bring this vision to life.
