POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

10 years ago today, I married my partner in crime. Initially, I considered posting a ton of pictures or at least one photo from every year since our wedding... but the thought of trying to comb through a decade's worth of memories frankly overwhelmed me. And in a way, that's a beautiful testament to the incredible life we've built together. We've experienced and achieved so much over the past decade, and I'm so grateful to have done it side-by-side with @jmburg ...

How in the world did the cutie pie see on the left side of these pictures turn into the punk rock star seen on the right over the span of 5 years?! Regardless of how, I'm so proud that I get to celebrate National Son Day cause of him 💙

Happy National Daughters Day to the gal on the right - who somehow is even sassier than the gal seen on the left (taken 5 years ago...) 💜

Another year of Sea Hear Now in the books! Still processing the day (and nursing soar ankles), but sets from Mumford & Sons, the Offspring, Shaggy, All American Rejects, Fitz and the Tantrums, and Jarod Clemons (along with special appearances from Jake Clemons and the Ocean Avenue Stompers through out the day) were examples of why Danny Clinch's festival in Asbury Park is one of the things I look forward to every year.

Here are some photos, but I'll be sharing more video over at @iheardbrucemightshowup over time 😉

Of course just as I got (semi) comfortable saying I have kindergarteners, my babies are off to 1st grade ... I want to say I'm super excited to see how the Shawesome twins will continue to grow and amaze me in the new school year, but frankly I'm too busy 😭 my eyes out... 💙💜

Harlan and Lilah - I know that I always ask "What happened to my babies?! Why are they so big?!" every single birthday... in fact, what I am about to say is exactly what I wrote last year, but as you turn 6, it remains true and I am still flabbergasted. I cannot believe how fast time has flown by, and I cannot fathom that it's been six years since we met you both in the hospital. And yet each and every single day you both find a way to leave me speechless and immersed in pride. It's been incredible to see firsthand how much each of you have grown and accomplished these past six years. The only thing that hasn't changed since Aug. 16, 2020, is my unconditional love for you both. Happy Birthday Harlan and Lilah, and thank you for making me your Dad on this day six years ago. 💜💙

13 years ago (Aug. 10), I saw Black Sabbath at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. As great as the Godfathers of Metal were that night, it was what happened the following day that stands out to me... the morning after, I got a DM from a girl I had been chatting with on a dating app. She asked if I was free that night to grab dinner. Any other person I would've probably used the excuse of being "too tired and soar after seeing a concert" to go out (and admittedly I was both - I had traveled back n forth between Philly and my apartment in Jersey City for the show, so basically across the entire state of NJ, and I headbanged so much during the show that I was completely drained), but I didn't want to pass on any chancr to finally meet her. And thank goodness I went... 13 years later, we're about to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, have raised two incredible kids (shout out to my twins!), and have gone to so many concerts together that I've lost count. So yeah, you could say that the day after I saw Black Sabbath live, I met my go-to concert buddy for life...

Who's your favorite person to go to concerts with? Share in the comments below, and stay tuned for more things to come from this space (including stories from concerts like this)!

. @jmburg had been itching to take the twins to their first concert for a while now, and see 311 and Dirty Heads at PNC Bank Arts Center seemed like the perfect opportunity! So how did their first concert go? Honestly... a few rough patches during the night - but all in all the kids had fun, and left the show looking forward to their next concert (whenever that might be) - so a win all around!

Also a huge shout out to PNC Bank Arts Center for making my kids' first concert special - if you go to the Guest Service Booth and tell them it's your first concert, they'll give the kids a ticket stub replica with the concert they're attending printed on it (hot tip for fellow parents planning their kids' first concert 😉). Such a special momentum that we'll always cherish!

5 years of a 4th Of July Weekend Tradition of taking a photo on the Dacha's red couch has me yelling "WHERE ARE MY BABIES?!?!?!".... but seriously, @jmburg , "WHERE ARE MY BABIES?!?!?!" 😭😭😭

Happy National Camera Day! And what better way to celebrate than by recalling the time renowed music photographer Danny Clinch took a photo of ME at Sea Hear Now back in 2023... well, he was really moreso taking a picture of my "I Heard Bruce Might Show Up" hat, but I'm in it! Honestly, the fact he took the time to even chat with me in between sets at Sea Hear Now (the festival HE created and curates) was an honor in and of itself. So getting my picture taken by the man who's photographed some of the most iconic portraits in music history is something I'll still never get over. Unfortunately, I never got to see the finished product, but grateful my wife captured the BTS moment of the impromptu shoot (he was just walking by when he saw my hat, got a kick and asked to take a photo 😀) and honored he was willing to take a photo with us.

Stay tuned for more things to come from this space, including stories from concerts like this!

Wow - Jimmy Eat World sounded INCREDIBLE at the Stone Pony Summer Stage tonight. And hearing 'Bleed American' from top to bottom live was a reminder of how phenomenal of an album it is - even after 25 years... excuse, I'm gonna go cry at how old I feel now (also because my back is super soar... cause I'm old)...

I'll be sharing more from this show via @iheardbrucemightshowup over time, but for now enjoy these clips and photos (including a video of @jmburg and I showing our Jersey pride 🤭)
