POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This summer at Danny Kaplan Studio, we hosted a Mug Competition across the entire team — not just production. Everyone jumped in, sketched ideas, and submitted their designs, and then we all voted for our favorite set.

We’re excited to share that the winning mugs, designed by @soph_haulman, will be on display in the showroom and available to purchase directly from the maker. Her set received the highest votes and truly stood out as something special.

Proud of this studio moment, my incredible team and all the creativity that came out of it 🥰

New year, not so new me.

1-6: First vase of 2025 in a new color way and its inspo, Onitsuka tigers. I spent all morning painting her. I’m really excited to play around with metallics this year and I’ve got my eye on that mirror paint.

7: The Venetian, also in a new color way.

8: An idea that stemmed from The Venetian that I’m not sure I executed properly-the proportions are a bit off.

9-14: Beautiful works by @dierz @m_o_n_d_a_y_s & @jmf._____ I squealed like a pig in shit when I opened the box up and saw them.

Mummy: Take lots of pictures and videos!
Me: *proceeds to take zero videos and some of the worst photos I’ve ever taken in my life*
I had to steal some from S, T’s stories.

Listen guys, I was just happy to have been in the presence of greatness. It truly was an honor.

Thanks @jmf._____ & @sincerelytommy_ 🤍
Great meeting you! @m_o_n_d_a_y_s @_ikokomi
Grateful for @jacobgehrig who helped me transport my precious babies. Shout-out to @sexyblueorb and my family (@zacharyadrian_ ) for coming out to support me and to all who shared the flyer (@avaawebb @tennesseehunny @tay.glamour @yummy.thai & whoever else might have) or planned on coming but couldn’t make it. My heart is so full. 🫂

My only regret is that I didn’t get (better/more) pictures of everyone’s beautiful work. One more day left so go check it out!

Vessel No. 001 by @jmf._____ Jessica Fisher
2024
Ceramic
11” x 11” x 10”

This vessel is part of an exploration into the interplay between utility and sculpture, merging functional design with a sculptural presence. The piece embodies a balance of sharp and soft details, creating dual silhouettes that shift with perspective. The layered glaze highlights these dynamic surfaces, enhancing tactile engagement and drawing viewers to interact through touch. Driven by a desire to evoke a tangible connection, this work reflects a fascination with transforming everyday objects into vessels that hold both personal and shared meaning, inviting a deeper appreciation for the beauty in both form and function.

This piece combines wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques, starting on the wheel and later altered with sculptural details. The surface is adorned with ornamental reliefs, which create dynamic textures. Custom-mixed glazes are applied to encourage dripping and pooling around these details, enhancing the interplay between form and finish. Fired to cone 6 with a carefully refined kiln schedule, the controlled cool-down process encourages glaze crystallization, adding depth and visual interest to the piece.

𝙸𝚗 𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝙲𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚊𝚗𝚢 on view through Dec 5th, 2024. Thank you so much for joining us for the opening last Saturday. It means a lot to us 🌷
This week gallery hours [upper level] Thursday-Sunday, 12-7PM. [lower level] Tuesday- Sunday, 12-7PM

The objects in our everyday life often sit quietly, unnoticed, in our daily routines. Functional, familiar, and steady, they rarely ask for more than a passing glance. Yet, these humble companions hold stories of connection, memory, and the rhythm of our shared existence. The exhibition “In Good Company” seeks to redefine these common objects through the lens of art, liberating them from their mundane roles and inviting us to reconsider what it means to live among them.
