People keep asking if the artwork is for sale. It's not. The paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures — all 100+ collaborative works that artists have made of my body over the past 8 years — they're staying together. One project. One collection. Not separated out and sold off individually, but held together as a complete body of work that documents what happened when artists from wildly different backgrounds all looked at the same plus-sized body with curiosity and care. This is the Perceive Me archive. And eventually it's going to a museum or institution where the whole thing can be shown together — as the body liberation happening it actually is. As documentation that confidence, self-worth, and the radical act of taking up space matter. That they're worth preserving. I made this decision because selling individual pieces never felt right. The work only means what it means when you see all of it together. One body. 100+ visions. That's the piece. If you've been eyeing something — and some of you have asked! — I get it. The work is beautiful and I'm so proud of what these artists made. Archival prints and catalogs are coming to the @startupartfair That's how you can bring something home and also how the collaborating artists get compensated. Watch this space. But the originals? They stay together. That's the whole point. #perceiveme #bodyliberation #socialpracticeart #nudeportrait #bodyimage

As 2025 comes to a close, @metro.art.la extends heartfelt thanks to the artists, cultural partners, and riders who explored new ways to connect LA through art together. This year brought exciting moments, from the opening of LAX/Metro Transit Center to four new A Line Extension stations in Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne and Pomona – along with continued progress for the future D Line Subway Extension – all featuring artworks that uplift your transit journey. From exhibitions like ‘Love, Leimert’ and ‘LA on the Move,’ to Metro Art programming with @kcrw, @kjazz881, @grandperfs and others, 2025 offered fresh ways to experience art by riding @metrolosangeles. Meet the Artist talks, new art posters, and awards – including being recognized by @lacommons for “defining the essence of Los Angeles” – further deepened our connection to the greater Los Angeles we serve. Thank you for supporting public art and public transit throughout the LAnd. We’re looking forward to even more connections in 2026. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a bright new year! Metro Art ❤️

The exhibit explores both memories of mothers, mothering, and motherhood, as well as the idea of memory (our human faculty to recall, revive, and reinvent what is no longer accessible to the senses) as a matrix. In what ways does memory mother us? To what extent does it create us, shaping who we are and what we do? Does it nurture us? Protect us? Can it heal us? Can it instruct and guide us? "Mother Memory" features work by nine Los Angeles-based artists, each bringing their unique perspective to the chosen theme through a variety of artworks. These pieces expand the core concept, introducing echoes of legacy, ancestry, motherland, mother tongue, and — last but certainly not least — the present and future of our wounded Mother Earth.
