Chicago Marathon 2026
Official Time: 3:51:44
(Chicago Marathon 2025: 4:09:44)

Completed the Berlin and Chicago double:
Two marathons, two continents, two weeks apart.

With such a short turnaround from Berlin, we decided to run this race safely and with gratitude. That being said, I can't help but feel overjoyed to finish with this time. Exceeding last year's performance and sub-4 goal, despite having run another marathon two weeks prior, shows me how much I’ve truly grown as a runner. To reflect further, this past year has also given me so many meaningful connections through the sport. I am incredibly thankful for these relationships and experiences, and for a life that encourages a love of the game.

Congratulations to everyone, from runners to supporters, for celebrating the beauty of a marathon. Though the conditions were not ideal, we powered through to the finish line.

It only let me tag 20 people, sorry. 😅. Recapping this past year has been insane. 🥹❤️
I used to run cross country and track and field in high school and college. Throughout my 20s, I kept telling myself, “One day, you’re going to run a marathon.” Year after year, that dream kept getting pushed aside.
At 34, I finally told myself, “You know what? Let’s enter the lottery. God, if it’s meant to be, I’ll get in. If not, we’ll try again next year.”
On December 18th, I received the email. I GOT IN! 🥹
I was in complete shock. My supervisor asked what I was looking at, and I told her I had gotten into the marathon.
I started running again, but nothing about this journey was easy.
As many of you know, I work in social work, and balancing the emotional demands of my career, life, and marathon training was challenging. There were days I was physically exhausted, mentally drained, and questioned whether I could do this.
But I kept showing up.
Along the way, I met incredible people, joined run clubs, built beautiful friendships, and even started a run club with my own friends. What began as a personal goal became something so much bigger.
Running became more than just miles. It became my peace, my outlet, my healing, and a reminder of how strong I truly am.
There were tears, setbacks, early mornings, long runs, laughter, and moments when I wanted to give up. But there were also people who believed in me, encouraged me, and reminded me why I started.
To everyone who supported me, ran alongside me, checked on me, encouraged me, or simply believed in me, THANK YOU. ❤️
That girl who ran cross country and track never imagined what this journey would become.
I didn’t just train for a marathon. I found friendships, community, strength, and a version of myself I had been missing.
But most importantly, I found ME. ❤️🏃🏻‍♀️🌻

I completed my 3rd marathon, but this one feels different. I finished last year’s Chicago Marathon feeling extremely defeated and honestly was going to give up running. Thankfully, I was able to see through all this doubt and set a goal to redeem myself. I came into Chicago not only consistently training, but also learning to love running. I’m very thankful for all the clubs that have welcomed me and pushed me to strive for this goal of mine. The heat was brutal, but I’m glad to say that the wall didn’t get the best of me this time around. Seriously, thank you all for all the support, all the runs, and the memories created through this journey. Also, this is the first race that my mom has been able to come to. Shout out mumz. I’m extremely blessed to have all these pillars that help build me up. Y si si? Next stop, Indiana 🗣️

👻 🦾🐻

Feel like I’ve had no time to really take in all the stuff I’ve been doing. Just always on the move, some of these slower paced days have been really important recently. Even if the days are longer, just being able to relax, has been a good reset for me. I always talk about being busy or whatever, but I’m exactly where I want to be, and who I want to be with. Here’s to the spooky month, full of mayhem and madness from all the haters out there. Same shi, different day, grind don’t stop..
