πŸͺ˜ GOLPES tells the story of Ulpiano Duran, a 77-year-old retired musician and music producer whose relationship with music has helped him navigate a lifetime of struggle and displacement. Although rooted in the experiences of an older generation, his story remains deeply relevant as a cautionary tale about the mistakes we make and the opportunities we lose. Touching on themes of deportation, starting from scratch, and mental health, the film explores the lasting consequences of life’s hardships and the role music can play in navigating them. Blending poetic visuals that place Ulpiano in a void-like space, allowing the viewer to connect with his story and memories, the film is both a portrait of a life shaped by music and a love letter from son (@kevindurandu) to father. The 7th and final day of Bushranger by @rileymbell_. Most creative day on set; Making the inside feel like the outside. The crew went out and gathered some foliage to act as our ground cover; which was laid down on a tarp within @sae_film_melb’s soundstage. Given the concrete floor, we couldn’t rely on poles to support our tent, and so decided to instead suspend the tent from the ceiling by tying the guy ropes to the rig. Then it was just a matter of dressing the tent - filling it with baskets, tables, chairs, stretchers, and all manner of miner’s tools - Including functional hurricane lanterns. Working as the production designer, leading @ren_gunn_cinema as art director, and @mathsandmeatcleavers as makeup artist. Photos by @jjcapturedmoments and @ren_gunn_cinema.

Day 3 of Bushranger by @rileymbell_. Hardest day on set; Setting up a camp is a lot harder when only the production team knows how to tie knots properly. πŸ™„ The modern tents we bought had to be transformed into era-appropriate tents, and we even had to make our own tent poles for our signature tents with the aid of Robert Tinker. The entire crew learnt how to refuel, prepare, and light hurricane oil lanterns as part of the set safety protocols; Which meant the gaffing team then had to work around real flames πŸ˜„. Working as the production designer, leading @ren_gunn_cinema as art director, and @mathsandmeatcleavers as makeup artist. All photos by @jjcapturedmoments.
