Do you love to sing? Are you looking to make lifelong friends you can make music with? If yes, you should audition for a cappella!💜💛🎶

This fall, we're hosting hybrid auditions! In-person auditions will take place on Saturday, September 5th at 10AM and Sunday, September 6th at 11AM, both days in Union Warren 256 (located near the mailroom). This is where you'll be able to sign up for audition time slots with as many groups as you'd like! You only have to show up to one day of auditions, so choose whichever day that works best for you. Come prepared with either a verse & chorus or a bridge & chorus of a song that shows off your voice, and if you can beatbox, prepare to show that off as well!🎙‼️

If in-person auditions do not work for you, virtual auditions will also be accessible through the Linktree in our bio. Virtual auditions will open on Sunday, August 30th, and we will be accepting auditions until no later than 11:59pm on Saturday, September 5th. We can't wait to hear your voices!💫🎤

If you have any questions about auditions or any of our 10 groups, feel free to DM us or email acappellajmu@gmail.com! More information can also be fo found on the JMU A Cappella website, also found in the Linktree in our bio!🎼

GET TO KNOW THE GROUPS!! The JMU a cappella community is made up of ten amazing groups, each with their own unique sound, vibe, and identity. Next up is , Unaccompanied, founded in 2010!💜🎶 @jmuunaccompanied

"Hi!! We’re Unaccompanied, JMU's upper voices a cappella group! Founded in fall 2010, we were brought together by a shared love of music and have grown into a supportive, authentic, and fun sisterhood. In unac, we pride ourselves on being ourselves, uplifting one another, and making amazing music while having lots of laughs along the way. We’d love to see new faces join the a cappella community this year, so be sure to follow @jmuunaccompanied and check out our 2025 EP, between the lines, wherever you stream your music!"

We’re celebrating 30 incredible years of JMU A Cappella!!! 💜🎶💛

Our community began with the formation of @themadisonproject in 1996, who brought a cappella music to the JMU campus. Since then, nine groups have followed, and we stand today as a loving and talented group of singers expressing ourselves through music.

A very happy 30 years to our community, and onto many more!
