A little over 2 years ago, @djlitebrite93 posted on his story asking for people to send him pics & videos from the 2024 Frosé event. I took this as a chance to shoot my shot, DM’d him and said “if you ever need professional photos at an event, I’d love to be considered!” (or something like that,) and not to sound cheesy or cliche, but the rest is history.

Not only have I spent the last 2 years working for @djlitebrite93, but I’ve been lucky enough to find an entire community of people who support my work. There truly aren’t any words to fully or accurately explain the last 2 years, but I am so grateful that I’m living a version of my life that includes all of @litebriteandfriends.

From @hauslab.co events a championship Thunder season, to Apres and Frosé at @thejonesokc, the art we have all created together is something I’ll cherish forever.

I could ramble on and on about how much my life has changed because of that 1 DM I sent, but I’ll spare everyone from that journal entry lol.

What I will say is this; you never know if you don’t ask. And the worst thing you can be told is no. Shoot that shot. You never know when you’ll end up working with a new creative family.

Shelby is how I found Jalen, bc I followed her first. As an AuDHD mom, I needed people to look up to who actually understood how my brain works. Not only did I find understanding and answers about myself through Shelby’s work, but I found an entire creative family that changed my life. Grateful doesn’t even come to close to explaining how I feel about being able to call Shelby a friend.

Another great Opening Day of SOY SZN is in the books.

It was inspiring to see families, volunteers, community leaders, and supporters come together to celebrate our youth and the opportunities ahead this summer. Days like these remind us that meaningful change happens when a community invests its time, energy, and resources in the next generation.
