🚦 NOW STREAMING 🚦
“At the Light” - single by Shepup [ @shepup ]

“At the Light” is a meditation on Shepup’s lifelong friendship with Erin. The song centers around the traffic light between their childhood homes - a place they’d meet to set off on the day’s adventures, reconvene to debrief, and eventually make a pact to reunite as ghosts in the event of either’s untimely demise.

Like Erin herself, “At the Light” turns dissonance into levity and memory into light.

Out everywhere now via Paper Moon Records.

🐶 ABOUT SHEPUP 🐶

shepup is an indie-folk band based in Ridgewood, NY. In a typical shepup song: narcotic vocals, jazz chords plucked on nylon strings, a delightfully well-synced rhythm section, and a great big dollop of whimsy.
Songwriter Sheila Flaherty writes with deep sincerity about bullies, swamps, family history, queerness, love, friendship, and her experiences as a maritime engineer. Influences include Alice Phoebe Lou, Okay Kaya, and Sibylle Baier.
Sheila believes in radical authenticity, the power of humor, and the idea that the two are not mutually exclusive. She hopes her music will inspire others to explore their creative sides, and she especially delights in reaching other women who work on ships.

There were many versions of the Satan Mares, each wonderful in their own special chaotic unity. Tonight we change things up again! The band is old, the band is new. And that's a big honor to have been playing with all of you!

Tonight @springdavey will take on drums, @chasethehorseman will be bassin', @dionysian_miasma will be on her theremin making spooky sounds and playing keys, and I'll play my guitar and sing.

I hope you come out to the Gutter in Williamsburg and dance with us! Doors are at 7. We will close the show after @caninewedding, @xstrawberryglassx and @hero.magnus sometime after 10.

Special thank you to @ourwickedlady crew for making this happen!

Love you! 🚬👹
