To my friends and family, thank you for believing in me. I could not have done this without y’all.

Y’all don’t understand. When this cruise was booked, nobody (including myself) was married and I really thought I’d be going with a boyfriend. And now this is my family and I just got to swim with dolphins, snorkel in glass-like waters, eat lobster, sing at the dinner table, play a million rounds of bullshit, and have drunk dance parties with my best friends all week

I had two favorite parts about this trip:

The first was waking up early and hiking in the dark to see lighthouse rock absolutely illuminated by the morning sun, and then climbing even higher to do a 3 minute morning devotional as physically close to heaven as I could. I couldn’t help but be in awe of the God I serve. What a privilege it is to enjoy His creation in such a fun and unique way. Despite the harsh cold of a winter morning and the aching in my body from its physical demands, my heart felt on fire and alive. He is faithful and never forsakes, even when I kept Him at a distance. I have life because of Him and while that life comes with adversity (like stubborn illness, insecurity, attacks on my marriage, and rejection from friends), all I could say at the top was “Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus!”

The second was the people I spent my weekend with. Having a family (specifically in-laws) as cool as mine is something I never thought I’d have and I LOVE spending time with them. Our campfire conversations were elite; Johnny and Peyton’s bow and arrows made from scratch were actually pretty impressive; “country girls make do” is my new favorite saying (thank you Aaralyn and Josie); and everybody was so patient with me with my voice completely gone the entire trip (still is btw, my doctor’s appointment is tomorrow lol😚✌️). I’d been waiting YEARS to take this trip because I didn’t really have friends or family members who’d be up for tent-camping in a canyon 6 hours away from home, but now that I do, I can say it was well worth the wait! 10/10 best camping trip to date. Thank you guys!!!❤️
