From canvas to closet… Joan Blond™ is back in full colour. 🎨🌸

Inspired by the Australian bush, wildflowers and the colours that bring her joy, Joan’s artwork has once again made its way from the canvas into your wardrobe.

💙 The blue print brings together eucalyptus, wattle and wildflowers, inspired by the feeling of walking through a garden in full bloom.

🌸 The pink print is all about pure happiness — soft pinks, peach and sage, with plenty of colour, sunshine and summer energy.

As @joanblond says, “I paint what brings me joy, our beautiful land and the colours that uplift us.”

Now you get to wear that joy. 💕

Joan Blond™ x Taking Shape - wearable art has never looked so @joanblond

🎨🥂 A LITTLE ART. A LITTLE INDULGENCE. A LOT OF INSPIRATION.

Yesterday, The Royal Queenscliff was filled with creativity, conversation and just a little artistic magic as we welcomed guests to our latest Immersive Painting Workshop with @joanblond and @aliki.k

Our magnificent Chandelier Room was transformed into an artist’s haven, where brushes met canvas, creativity flowed and some truly beautiful artworks came to life.

And because we believe a little indulgence should always accompany creativity, our guests were treated to a magnificent luncheon by @the_royal_caterer in our Garden Lounge — the perfect opportunity to relax, connect and enjoy the beautiful surrounds of The Royal.

The results? Some fabulous paintings, plenty of laughter and, we suspect, a few budding artists who surprised even themselves!

It’s so much more than a painting workshop. It’s an experience. A day to escape the everyday, discover your creative side, enjoy wonderful food and company, and leave with something uniquely yours.

✨ Wish you’d been there?

We’re already looking forward to our 2027 workshops! Dates are yet to be announced, so keep a close eye on our social media and website to be among the first to know when bookings open. If you’d like to be notified of our next workshop, just DM your details and you’ll be first to know!

Places are always limited, and we’d love to see you at our next creative gathering.

The Royal Queenscliff. We’re not what you’d expect.

Our final workshop for the year! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, shared the day with us, and got creative! 💛 We hope you had a wonderful time, enjoyed trying something new, and left feeling inspired by what you created.

A special thank you to @the_royal_caterer for the beautiful food, and to Kat and Allan @theroyalqueenscliff for making us feel so welcome.

And of course, a big thank you to Joan for always being such a wonderful friend and for bringing these workshops together.

It’s always a pleasure creating these special days with you! ❤️

Thank you all for your support throughout the year. Wishing everyone a happy, creative and relaxing end to the year.

We look forward to bringing you more creative workshops next year! 🎨✨

Connie & Jayne took a day off work to explore our creative side 🎨

We pondered colours and techniques, and the big questions in life …. when can you call yourself an artist? 😆

Thanks to @aliki.k and @joanblond for putting on a great event, and the perfect excuse to spend the day with a lovely friend 🥰

We’re in the final weekend of our group show ‘Memories Made’, all about the objects, places and things that store memory. Today we wanted to shout out all the artists that took part and celebrate some of the gorgeous details and textures from the works on display.

The complete works and more are all available online at www.sydneyroadgallery.com. Or visit us in the gallery before tomorrow, Sunday the 11th, to view the works in person.

Part 1/2

Here is another look at some of the works in our current show ‘Memories Made’. This show has already generated lovely conversations with passersby about memories and the things that trigger them. Whether it’s the blue hydrangeas that reminded someone of their late mother or a familiar landscape that brought someone back to a recent adventure. This is such a powerful element of art and we’re grateful to be a part of creating these connections!

View the whole show online now or in person, Thursday thru Sunday.

Our new group show, Memories Made, explores the relationship between memory, art, and the things we hold onto. These are works that evoke, reflect on, or are inspired by memory, and invite you to consider what stays with us over time.

The concept was put forward by one of our own artists @ali.werbeloff.art, and we’ve loved watching the thoughtful, personal response it’s drawn from everyone taking part.

Take a walk through the show above and then come see it for yourself, in person or online.

Memories Made is open now.

Alongside the beautiful show by @fionakatesimplegorgeous in our front room, we have this gorgeous selection of work on display in our Art Collector’s Room. In this room we celebrate the artists of Sydney Road Gallery and any guest artists all year-round.

You’ll find an amazing mix of work from landscapes to portraits, and from still life to expressive abstracts and ceramics. Like our main exhibition room, this room also changes every few weeks, so be sure to visit in person or online to check it out!
