🎨 Behind the Scenes with Art Perspectives! 🎥

We spent the day inside the galleries at the @tampamuseumofart capturing an inside look at the vibrant new exhibition: David Hockney: Perspective Should Be Reversed.

A huge thank you to @joannarobotham Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, for guiding us through six decades of Hockney’s groundbreaking career! From iconic swimming pools and intimate portraits to bold iPad drawings and multi-panel works, this collection (drawn from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation) completely changes the way you look at perspective and color.

This will be the last exhibit we get to film with Joanna. Sad to see her go but excited for the new adventure she’s about to begin! This exhibit was a great finale!

The exhibition fresh off its opening celebration!
On display till February 28, 2027! Go see it!

We can’t wait to share this episode with you.

📺 Stay tuned to TBAE Network for premiere dates and broadcast times!

Tracing the threads of history: The art of Suchitra Mattai.
🇬🇾✨

Today, on Indian Arrival Day—a significant cultural milestone in Guyana—We are reflecting on the rich, complex history of the Indo-Caribbean diaspora through the lens of artist @suchitramattaistudio

We invite you to experience “Suchitra Mattai: Bodies & Souls,” an exhibition that masterfully explores the intersection of migration, materiality, and matriarchy. From her monumental installations featuring vintage saris to delicate works honoring ancestral traditions, Mattai’s art transforms the complex history of indentured labor into a beautiful narrative of resilience and identity, gives agency to silenced voices, and maps the journey from the past to the present.

@joannarobotham, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at @tampamuseumofart takes us on a tour of this beautiful exhibit. Mattai’s work is an "offering"—a testament to our constant evolution, transformation, and the enduring strength of the communities that shape us.

The Gallery: Curated by Joanna Robotham. This months’s feature is “Rise” Creative Pinellas at PIE ✈️ The exhibition “Rise,” on view in the Sightline gallery through June, introduces travelers to the work of three St. Petersburg artists: photographer Luci Westphal, woodworker Scott Solary and ceramicist Charles Morrison. A newly commissioned poem by Letisia Cruz accompanies the artwork. The exhibition’s title conjures a swelling sense of optimism and joy, as well as the transformation of images, wood and clay through the artists’ hands. #stpeteart

Miami Book Fair '25 📚 (inspired by @shazerllanera @daiki.shino)

Started MBF Week with An Evening w/ Gene Pressman & Elysze Held hosted by @booksandbooks & @balharbourshops. I've never been to Barneys, but the attendees recalling their Barneys experience and Gene Pressman sharing the rich history of the store (inc. discovering designers and introducing brands to the US market) transported me there.

And joined in on the Street Fair fun with a panel w/ Gene Pressman, Simon Doonan, and Matthew Schneier (hosted by @miamifashioninstitute; Sat) and a panel w/ Joanna Robotham and Pepe Mar (hosted by @moadmdc; Sun). Super happy because both events were free, and I got to walk around and admire the newly re-opened and renovated Miami Freedom Tower.

I def need to come back to the Freedom Tower because one visit isn't enough. I really enjoyed learning about the rich history of this building and how poignant it is in Cuban-American history. @mdcpresident, thank you. Learning about your years-long advocacy in restoring the Freedom Tower ever since you became MDC's president and getting to experience this historical marvel last weekend--you def gained another level of respect and admiration from me.

I was in awe of Sharon Louden's "Windows of Freedom," Suchitra Mattai's "A Mother's Glow," and all of the preserved tiles, columns, and facades of the Miami Freedom Tower.

And, I'm so glad I didn't miss the registration deadline to be a Student Friend of the Fair this time; I missed it last year because I wasn't checking my emails. The MBF is so generous w/ the Student FOTF freebies: Street Fair admission, MBF tote, book of choice, and a MBF cap!!

Thank you @booksandbooks and @miamibookfair 💙 Thank you for the opportunity to be in the same space as these creatives and industry legends.
