Mooshe Aloho (മൂശേ ആലോഹോ) is a traditional liturgical hymn sung during the Holy Qurbana , specifically right after the reading of the Holy Gospel.

It connects Old Testament with New Testament liturgy, drawing a parallel between God calling Moses from the burning bush and the sacred duty of the priesthood.

The Burning Bush: Symbolizes the Virgin Mary, who carried the unconsumed fire of Christ’s divinity.
The Tabernacle & Altar: Represents the sanctuary and the proper reverence required of the celebrant.
Kahanusa (Priesthood): Serves as a solemn reminder for the priest to approach the altar and administer the sacraments with awe, purity, and faithfulness.

The hymn translates to ‘God called Moses’ in English and ܩܪܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ mooshe aloho in Syriac.

Something VERY new 🔔

Dhooshakalin Dhooshyathil / Thiyalo ee Madhbha ക്ദൂശകളിൻ ക്ദൂശയതിൽ
കയറുമൊരാ കഹനകളെ / തീയല്ലോ ഈ മദ്ബഹ
തീ തന്നെ പൂജയിതും is a hymn that is sung during the Holy Qurbana and it is traditionally chanted after the reading of the Holy Gospel.

I have never heard of this hymn, and I have personally never sung this hymn either, so for me this was a new experience.

I actually struggled trying to read the Malayalam and trying to find the Syriac transliteration for both of these songs. If anyone of you guys do know - please let me know 😊

The hymn holds a profound symbolic meaning regarding the sanctity of the altar and the divine presence during the sacrifice.

Thiyalo ee Madhbha hymn translates to ‘The altar is fire, and the offering is fire’ in English.

The notes/tune for this hymn is compatible with either of the following hymns.

Perunnal Week🔔

Parishudhalayamulil Scaria(പരിശുദ്ധാലയമുള്ളിൽ സ്‌ക്കറിയാ)
Is a hymn that is specifically sung during the Holy Qurbana on the Annunciation to Zechariah Sunday.

The hymn beautifully describes the biblical event from the Gospel of Luke (Luke 1:8–23), where the Angel Gabriel appears to the priest Zechariah inside the sanctuary of the temple while he is burning incense, announcing the miraculous birth of his son, John.

This short hymn is modeled as a direct plea to God. It draws a parallel between the Old Testament temple worship—where God favorably accepted the incense offered by the priest Zechariah (Luke 1:9–11)—and the current New Testament Eucharistic service (Holy Qurbana), asking God to accept the congregation’s worship and incense in the exact same way.

The hymn translates to ‘Inside the Holy Sanctuary’ in English and to ’B-gaw haykla d-qudsha l-Zakarya ܒܓܘ ܗܝܟܠܐ ‘ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܠܙܟܪܝܐܿ in Syriac.
