And this is why the @eadv_ now has over 15,000 members and more than 20,000 attending its #EADVCongress! The elegance of #Vienna, the level of its sessions, the networking and learning opportunities. The Austrian Society of Dermatokogy has launched an equally sophisticated open access journal called #Skindeep and I have published 5 of our papers in it. Think of that if you have a great review as only 10% of articles submitted to the top journals get published. My juniors, the ‘Kangaroos’ were here meeting each other again or for the first time- from Austria @christian_putti from Italy @ruggerocascio and @nicole.tomas_ from Australia and Taiwan @_henrytseng and @darbyboucher from Bulgaria @dimitar.krstev from UK @alvin_lhf and it was great to see and hear their presentations and they attended the 4 sessions I participated in. Hosting the #EADVGames again was so much fun with Frederic Caux and fighting him with a Star Wars light saber instead of our usual dancing together. The celebration at the President’s dinner in the Natural History Museum seated at the table of the outgoing president, Branka Marinovic, and celebrating the beginning of the presidency of Marie Aleth Richard as incoming @eadvpresident and @carmen.salavastru as President-Elect was the highlight for me of the congress. Signing our new edition of TreatmentofSkinDiseases with Mark Lebwohl and @antonella_tosti and Ian Coulson was fun. Another highlight- bringing my well respected ophthalmologist cousin, @winder_stephen OBE, who was lecturing at the European Ophthalmology congress in the Messe Congress Centre, to our @wcd2027 reception and the @womensdermsociety reception I was cohosting. The L’Oreal Vienna in Gold party at Palais NiederOsterreich was also spectacular with the chance to catch up with friends @heatheririnarishel , @dr.brunildabardhi , Su Lwin, Chris Griffiths, @elsa_taicher_loreal and go from reception to reception bidding for the next WCD. #EADV togetherforbetter

An intense and rewarding EADV Congress 2026 in Vienna, bringing together scientific exchange, international collaboration and an important step forward for Madrid’s candidacy to host the World Congress of Dermatology in 2031.

I had the pleasure of participating in the scientific programme with several presentations.

Beyond the scientific programme, this congress was particularly important to me in my role as Secretary General of the Madrid Bid for WCD 2031.

Together with colleagues from the AEDV, we continued to present Madrid’s vision for the World Congress of Dermatology and had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with dermatologists and representatives of dermatological societies from many different countries.

A particularly memorable moment was our Madrid WCD 2031 Cocktail Reception, which attracted a fantastic international attendance and created an excellent opportunity for networking, strengthening friendships. Thanks for coming. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
🇪🇸 Madrid is ready to welcome the global dermatology community.
