Thanks to Suzanne, her fellow Champions, and the incredible San Diego community, we raised over $60,000 to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) 🙌

Give it up for our #WalkersOfTheWeek! BIG thanks to these inspiring individuals who make the Friendship Walk and our mission shine ✨

🌟 Lexi - OC
Lexi joined UCI’s Best Buddies chapter in 2016 and has been a true champion for inclusion ever since. Currently serving as the chapter’s secretary, she previously held the role of Buddy Director. Lexi recently completed her associate’s degree in American Sign Language and is passionate about advocating for individuals with disabilities in her local community.

🌟 Natalie - Sacramento
Natalie, a proud member of Davis Senior High School’s Best Buddies chapter, is leaving her mark as the chapter’s historian. She’s also one of our top fundraisers for the Sacramento Friendship Walk, showing her incredible commitment to supporting our cause and spreading inclusion throughout her community.

🌟 Wes - Bay Area
Wes is a long-time leader and co-chair of the Bay Area Friendship Walk Committee. With over 8 years of involvement in Best Buddies through the USF chapter, Citizens program, and as an Ambassador, Wes’s dedication and advocacy continue to inspire us all.

🌟 Michelle - Fresno
Michelle plays a vital role as a new advisory board member and the Publicity Chair for the Friendship Walk, but her most important title is being Kaitlyn’s mom. Kaitlyn graduated from Project SEARCH in 2021 and was placed at her job at Goodwill through Best Buddies. Michelle says, “I am so very grateful to Best Buddies for all they have done for my daughter, and I hope to give back as much as they’ve given to us.”

🌟 Jocelyn - San Diego
Jocelyn is a rockstar volunteer and the Mission Chair for the San Diego Friendship Walk Committee! Matched through our Citizens program, she brings years of experience and heart to the team, ensuring the walk highlights the incredible impact of Best Buddies programs.

🌟 Amir - LA

We as in ME!🤍

Hi I’d like to reintroduce myself, my name is Jocelyn and I am the owner of the new & improved Akemi’s Shop!☁️ Akemi’s Shop was previously Tiny Things by Jocelyn but it needed a little revamping 🖍️

I am no longer located in LA but located in San Diego☀️ & TTBJ opened back in 2018/2019. I closed the shop to focus on my career as a Preschool Special Education teacher🌈 & now with the hang of life/work/day to day Akemi’s Shop came to reopen!🤍

Fun fact Akemi is my middle name and Akemi’s Shop will specialize in stickers, stationary, & so much more! I am so excited for everyone to follow the new journey & products will be coming out real soon!🍒

Introduce or reintroduce yourself in the comments below so I can get to know more about you!

Say hello to our first #WalkersOfTheWeek! These volunteers go above and beyond as they are not only walkers, but Friendship Walk Committee Chairs! During the months leading up to the walk, they work alongside our staff to plan all logistics and ensure the event is an exceptional experience for all attendees. Each chair has served multiple years on the committee, so we are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our cause!
