Happy birthday to my beautiful mama! 🫶🏽

I’m so lucky to have her as my ultimate role model for going from surviving to thriving.

She went from…
being a young mom on welfare to now having her own beachside house that she built

believing she wasn’t creative to becoming a gifted weaver (btw she’s available for commissions 😉)

working the 9-5 grind to traveling the world, surfing, and enjoying leisure

She is in in constant evolution. 🦋

Love you, Ma!

Celebrating my mom’s 60th with a trip to Venice! 🎉

She had never been before and it was a joy to treat her to a day trip there.

I’ve been so humbled by my fellow WOC that tell me I’m showing them what’s possible. 🙏🏾

But y’all- my mom is the original example!!

From…
🥭growing up in the Philippines to
🥭immigrating to the US to
🥭becoming one of the first Pinay directors at a biotech company to
🥭 teaching herself how to create and keep wealth to
🥭 retiring in her 40s to
🥭 living in a beachfront home in Mexico to
🥭 embracing her artistry and starting @habiwabisabi

She showed me that it’s possible to create a full mango life!

Cheers to you mia madre! Celebrating you and your “breaking the status quo” life! Love you! 💛

💛 It takes a community to care for our community.

Today I’m celebrating all the women in my life who have mothered me in one way or another.

I’m especially grateful for my mom.

She not only showed me how to survive, but through example showed me how to live liberated.

She held it down for our family, providing the means to live a privileged life.

She then showed me that it’s totally okay to leave your established career for a life of travel and adventure. (She’s currently living in Mexico 🇲🇽 part time.)

She showed me that it’s never too late to learn a new skill by learning to surf 🏄 in her 40s.

She taught me that rest is okay by retiring early and taking daily naps.

And she taught me that listening to myself could be ok when she told me to “go for it!” when I shared that I wanted to become a life coach.

I also know that this kind of mother-daughter relationship is rare and special and that not everyone gets to experience this.

Thanks, Ma for doing your own internal work so that I could do mine and help others with theirs. 💛

The ripple effects of that work and what you chose to model for me are extending further than you know. 🥰
