** Upcoming… DAVID MILNE Meta Opening 6-8pm Thursday November 19 2026 Preview Week November 12-18 November 12 - December 19 2026 Jacob Hoerner Galleries First Floor Pleysier Perkins 89 Wellington St StKilda Australia 3182 Open 11-5 Thu-Sat & by Appt - Meta DAVID MILNE With an exceptional understanding of colour, line and shape that has been developed and refined over his 6 decades as an Artist, the symbols and patterns that David Milne places into his meticulous work combine to reflect his artistic background as a Modernist with an acute awareness and sensibility to the trends and aesthetics of Contemporary painting. Milne’s approach is bold and striking at first glance, invariably complex and intricate upon further inspection, calming and measured when time is spent with his careful and considered hard edge abstractions, yet in essence Milne’s numinous compositions go beyond the painted surface. Part riddle and part ‘The Spiritualisation of Matter’ his coded visual language offers us access to longer arcs of time and more metaphysical notions of our sense of place via visual cues that have been used in Western and Eastern Art over centuries. Milne has had over 60 Solo & Group exhibitions since the late 1970s including exhibitions at John Hoerner Galleries in the 1980s as well as 2 significant Solo exhibitions with Jacob Hoerner Galleries, Code (2025) & The Spiritalisation of Matter (2018). Milne’s work was also presented at Sydney Contemporary in consecutive years (2018 & 2019) & then at the Spring 1883 Art Fair on two occassions as well (2023 & 2025). Milne’s work is in Private & Corporate Collections throughout Australia, Europe, the UK & United States. ‘Meta’ (2026) will open on November 12 for a Preview Week prior to the Official Opening that will take place from 6-8pm on Thursday November 19 2026, the exhibition will then continue until Saturday December 19 2026. ‘Meta’ (2026) PDF Catalogue Available by Request 🔖 Jacob Hoerner Galleries First Floor Pleysier Perkins 89 Wellington St St.Kilda Australia 3182 Open 11-5 Thu-Sat & by Appt For Further Information DM / info@jacobhoernergalleries.com +61 (0) 412 243 818

Some highlights from the Melbourne 2026 Affordable Art Fair at the Royal Exhibition Building. Bringing together 70+ galleries from across Australia and beyond, the fair spans everything from painting, photography and sculpture to abstraction, portraiture and First Nations art. The range of styles, scales and approaches makes each gallery feel distinctly different, from tightly packed salon hangs to more spacious presentations There is plenty of colour and playfulness throughout, with bright florals, animals, portraits, paintings inspired by Monopoly and works that draw on Australian iconography and childhood nostalgia. Sally Hastings’ ‘Having a Yarn’ personifies Australian ice creams gathered around a campfire, while Sally Ryan’s intimate still lifes and Ben Ryan’s portraits and skeletons explore light through rich chiaroscuro JUMBLED’s densely packed salon hang is a highlight, creating an almost overwhelming accumulation of works, while live painting adds another layer of activity to the fair With emerging and established artists, local and international work, and pieces ranging from small-scale objects to large paintings, there is a little bit of everything — and, importantly, you can take your artwork home as soon as you buy it! @affordableartfairau #luminosa #luminosaartsscene #affordableartfairau #melbourne #artfair

“I’m going to make everything around me beautiful - that will be my life”. Elise de Wolfe Well a good place to peruse a variety of beautiful art is at the Affordable Art Fair in Melbourne this weekend. My creative, talented friend @mariecellantedesign and I visited the @affordableartfairau in Melbourne last night. I enjoyed meeting numerous artists that I had only previously known through Instagram. This reel shows some of the work that caught my eye and there was much more that I didn’t capture. Marie is far better at photography than I. Hope you enjoyed this IG tour and it inspires you to visit the Fair yourself. Rochelle X #affordableartfair #paintings #australian #painter #beauty

Joe Blundell Tormented land Oil and sand on linen $12,000 Artwork for sale - email Skye contact@hadleysartprize.com.au hadleysartprize.com.au/joe-blundell Artist Statement: Extraordinarily, Australia is now the only developed nation designated a global hotspot for deforestation. Made using videos of deforestation in various parts of Australia and visiting sites, this painting is part of a series I’ve been working on for the past 12 months. I’m seeking to illuminate what forest destruction feels like after the machines have left the scene and all is quiet. Like a crime scene or a battlefield strewn with the sinewy vestiges of a torn down lifeform. Caterpillar tracks are the fingerprints that evidence this is destruction guided by the human hand, not a natural disaster. Open daily 10am - 4pm until Monday, 23 August Free admission | Artworks for sale

Photo dump from the @hadleysartprize last weekend. I love the first image, showing Imants Tillers @imants_tillers_studio in his studio. It was a huge weekend, and I didn’t take enough photos! An amazing experience to be involved - thanks to the judges for including my work and to the Hadleys team for making us feel so welcome. Go see the exhibition of finalists if you can. On until 23rd August. Open 10-4 every day.
