🟢 SUMMER CATCH-UP — DAY 8

Wins on home soil, a viral-adjacent comeback, and vests worn all over the map 👉

📍 Swansea
Zachary Beddows won the senior 5km outright in 15:50 (still only U18!), with Oliver Cobbold 2nd and Luticia Thomas first woman home.

📍 Aberdare
Harrison Walsh took the Discus win at the South Wales Throws Open, backed up by Roman Jackson and Ben Fenwick.

📍 National League Final, Eton
A tough day against the best in the country. The team finish 8th and are relegated for 2027, but Michael Jenkins and Sam Davies both won their events, and the 4x400m quartet ran an unofficial club record. Thank you to everyone who built this team this season — the rebuild starts now.

📍 Flying the flag
Colleen O'Leary (Welsh Masters, Deeside) and Emily Marchant (Team Wales, Antrim Half — lifetime best 1:15:23) both in international vests. Tabitha Ventress-Brett also racked up 3584 points at the England Combined Events Champs.

📍 Beast of Bryn
Andrew Cleverly smashed the 6 Mile course record by two minutes to win in 42:26, Finley Hines marked his comeback with 3rd in the brutal 10.5 Mile, and Daniel Gurmin backed up last week's half marathon with 9th.
Some stretch in a Swansea Harriers vest. 💚🤍

📍 Welsh Colours

Ellie Dunleavy's SIAB bronze in Belfast, Roman Jackson and Oliver Cobbold also on international duty (Oliver running up several age groups to do it)

Harrison Walsh captaining Wales at the Commonwealth Games with a season-best discus, and

📍 Bedford Gold Rush — Five medals at the England Athletics U16 & U18 Championships:

Gold for Evie Cooper (Hammer) and Millie Pierce (2000m Steeplechase, now ranked 2nd in the UK at U18 off the back of that run), silver for Isabelle Lawley, bronze for Oliver Cobbold, and a triple gold for Sienna Allen-Chaplin in the Para T/F36 events.

🇬🇧 SUMMER CATCH-UP — DAY 2

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 🇬🇧

Yesterday we kicked off our summer catch-up with Daf Jones’ incredible 13:44.09 PB over 5000m.

But Daf was just one part of a HUGE Swansea Harriers presence at the British Championships. 💚🤍

Across two days, Swansea athletes were competing in sprints, distance, steeplechase, jumps and throws against some of the very best in Britain.

And what a weekend they produced. 👏

⚡ 100m

A brilliant sight to see so many Swansea Harriers lining up in the men's 100m:

Lewis Stephens — 10.71 — 3rd in heat
Eli Onyewu — 10.98 — 7th in heat
Freddie Steele — 10.71 — 4th in heat
Eniola Adeotun — 10.57 — 3rd in heat 🔥
Owain Lloyd-Hughes — 10.76 — 7th in heat

With only the top two in each heat progressing automatically, qualification was brutally tough — but some serious sprinting from the Swansea boys.

In the Para 100m final, James Ledger ran 12.61 to finish 5th — another excellent performance on the British Championship stage. 👏

⬆️ HIGH JUMP
Samuel Davies — 2.15m PB — 6th

A lifetime best at the British Championships. You can't ask for much more than that. 🔥

🥏 DISCUS

Michael Jenkins — 54.92m — 4th

Agonisingly close to the medals and a huge performance.

Harrison Walsh — 53.82m — 5th

Another outstanding showing from Harrison on the national stage.

Lucy Harris — 41.39m — 8th

Another British Championship finalist for Swansea. 👏

🏃‍♀️ DISTANCE & STEEPLECHASE

Millie Gold — 3000m Steeplechase — 10:34.69 — 6th

A brilliant championship performance from Millie.

Verity Ockenden — 5000m — 15:53.80 — 8th

Top eight in Britain. Outstanding. 🇬🇧

And, as featured yesterday:

Dafydd Jones — 5000m — 13:44.09 PB — 13th🔥

⚡ 200m

Hannah Brier — 23.42 — 3rd in heat

And this one was painfully close…

Hannah missed the British Championship final by just 0.01 seconds.😳

⚡ 400m

Joseph Brier — 46.13 in the heats to book his place in the British Championship final…

before running 46.12 to finish 8th in Britain.🇬🇧

What a representation of the club.

Now to close out the season.
