When Joe played a bar on the Broadway in Leigh-on-Sea, he had tons of requests come through.

Then someone walked over mid-set and said “Joe, turn your tips on.” He hadn’t. He did. £53 in tips in one 40-minute set. Not too shabby.

The songs he couldn’t play went into the playlist that ran between sets, so nothing got wasted.
He picked up 14 Instagram followers across the night.
And the venue got the bit that actually matters to them: people stayed longer, because they were waiting to hear their request come up.

Same gig he was already playing. Same set, same room, same fee.
Worth so much more.

Gaaah, you know when you have a perfect day… Just an afternoon in one of our local pubs by the sea to watch one of our favourite local musicians (and also a lovely friend of ours). We sat outside, the tide was in, the sun was shining (without meaning to sound like Goldilocks but not like the insane heatwave we’ve been having, it was just right), bit of grub & chin wagging about nothing. Just perfect. One of those perfect days x

Sunday Session @thesandbarleigh with @joegibsonlive taking the requests…

A whole afternoon of requests for Joe in the beautiful Sand Bar, Leigh…. Some tricky song suggestions in there, alongside some of the usuals, but expertly performed by the request master 🙌
