From one of the times we had to turn back…

Call it good judgment or just plain old luck but out of the 59 4000m peaks I’ve climbed since jan ‘20 we have had to turn around only twice.

A combination of multiple weather forecasts, good beta, current condition reports and determination means less wasted trips!

It’s a nice moment when you turn your head torch off knowing that the sun will soon follow

Melting under the Swiss sun for 2 days in the Bernese Oberland.
Skiing was horrid, the boot packs were deep and we got sunburnt.
Would we do it again? OH YEAH!

Traversing Lyskamm last September was up there with the hardest 3 hours I have spent in the mountains

It was the crucial linking ridge that enabled us to traverse 13 4000m peaks over 2 days

Sometimes you just have to put on every piece of clothing that’s in your bag, put your head down and just put one foot in front of the the other!

2nd photo is me taking 5 after finally getting off the ridge and out of the wind! #destroyed

This time last year I was doing laps of my staircase.
I much prefer doing laps out here...

October skiing at 3800m!

Making your first turns down the arête always gets you gripped. No blue runs to warm up on up here!

Sleeping on the summit of Point Whymper has to be one of the highlights of my summer, I mean look at that sunset 😮

But then at the same time it was definitely one of the low lights...

Howling winds, temps well below zero and the worst nights sleep of my life.

Always look for the positives!

Sometimes you just have to put your feet up and relax. Even if you do it at 4600m on the summit of Nordend 😜

I can’t believe it’s been 3 months since my last selfie post. How could I let that happen?
Forecast is rain here for the foreseeable, so here’s one from a sunny day back in June! #timetoplay
