It was an incredible FYC Emmy® party celebrating Janet Hsieh’s YouTube series “Get Away With Janet Hsieh.”

There was a special preview of the travel series, highlighting Janet’s adventures in Hawai‘i during a volcanic eruption. (Guests were greeted with a lei and special passport upon arrival.) Another episode set in Taiwan features a flash mob of pregnant moms.

Guests celebrated with delicious food catered by @ikiramensushi and @padi.losangeles (beef rendang -- yum!), a gifting suite/gifting lanai (thank you @jennetchow for the awesome @jellypop.shoes!), a night market with complimentary snacks and trinkets, and, last but not least, boundless amusement by Janet’s adorable boys!

Sidenote: I had an amazing time with Navid Negahban (“Aladdin”) whom I’ve only previously met briefly two years ago at John Schneider’s wedding, and he STILL remembers my name. Move over, Marilu Henner! #iykyk

Fun fact:
Janet Hsieh is also the host of Discovery Travel’s long-running series “Fun Taiwan.” She has won the Taiwanese Golden Bell Awards as Best Host of a Travel Program and Best Host for a Variety Program.

Sleeping in a jeep with my camera attached to me and waiting for a volcano to erupt is officially crossed of my bucket list.

This felt like one of the coolest things I’ll get to do in my lifetime- film in the midst of all the elements: wind, rain & fire. It was very stressful because my equipment was getting soaked and we didn’t know long this episode of the volcano would last (I think it died down after about 2 hours), but it was magical and so powerful to be as close as we were.

And before the volcano erupted, we were playing around on the cliffs in Volcano National Park, so that was pretty cool too☀️

We had such a wonderful time at the @ladyfacefilmfestival this past weekend in Agoura Hills.

Not only was it exciting to have a festival to attend in Matthew’s hometown, but the festival itself was so thoughtfully crafted for the filmmakers.

We felt the love, we felt celebrated, we were welcomed, and we were taken care of.

Thank you Ladyface Mountain Film Festival!
