Cooked Hanukkah dinner for the folks I love last night! Miso caramel apple pork chops & Fat Pasha cauliflower
🕎
The first time I made this @fatpasha cauliflower was for a friends 21st birthday party potluck where everyone was already drunk and pretty well fed by the time I even showed up. Needless to say, no one really tried it including myself and all the showmanship of the dish that put this Toronto restaurant in headlines was for none. Lemme tell ya, a few family members are much more appreciative than 60+ hammered 21 yr olds. Who woulda thought.

Fat Pasha Cauliflower — Tahini and spicy schug drizzles, pine nuts, shredded halloumi, pomegranate seeds, steak knife (very important.)

Happy happy holidays folks. Wishing you all a restful few days with family, friends, or fantastic food—wherever you are. Thankful for all of you :)

Taking a break from the usually scheduled programming to show you guys the dinner we made to welcome @johnkennedyfood to the Lutterman house last night. A true family affair.

Main course was tackled by me. Shoutout to @cherylshoe for the recipe and @studiogabe for cooking advice. Couldn’t find black cod even after calling EVERY fish store in CLT so ended up going for mahi mahi...still bomb. Also, my coconut rice burnt a little at the bottom of the pan and that crispy rice at the bottom might have ended up being the best part of the whole dish. Happy accidents I guess...

And last but definitely not least, dessert was flawlessly executed by moms and sister. I’m pretty sure John enjoyed it all but the one thing I can guarantee is that we didn’t send him home hungry. More road trip phood coming soon ✌🏼

I want to live in a world where every friend of a friend feels safe enough to go on a run.
And I’m committed more than ever to finding creative, long-term ways of using what I do, what I love, and what I have to build a more just world.
.

Thank you @friendsoffriends__ for making a $5 run go a whole lot further and mean a whole lot more.
.
Very down to scheme with anyone who wants to do something like this again soon, hit me up.

the pizza is n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ as good as the condiments. tonight’s quarantine meal eaten many feet apart from each other: maple roasted butternut squash, apple, caramelized leeks, mozzarella, and tallegio. accompanied by rosemary garlic oil, habanero/ancho/serano honey, and “motor oil.” stay safe and healthy everyone.
