We’re so stoked White Dove is out!
The White Dove is an emblem of peace, something we feel is less present in the world around us than it should be. This song is our conversation with the white dove, questioning its lack of presence and praying for its return.
Go give it a listen:) Endless love to all!

COWBOY PANCAKES LIVE FROM THE LEXINGTON

We could easily say this about every track on the album, but cowboy pancakes is truly one of those that is very close to our hearts. On the record it's somewhere between an interlude and a full song but for us it really marks a turning point in the flow of the barn dance, which always feels like a parting of the clouds. The track itself has been such a journey, originally starting as a reworking of a mash-up of an old Hawaiian folk song from the 1910’s and an american folk song from the 20’s, which Oskar had sampled, rearranging fragments and words to make new sentences and sentiment. When we couldn’t clear the sample (lol) we went back and Adam recorded a version of the song for Oskar to sample. And that gave it fresh perspective again!

For the live shows we’ve been loving reimagining tracks from the album, and this one is one of our favourites to play for that reason. For the live version we really wanted to lean into that rebuilding, break it down and then piece it back together with full instrumentation from our beautiful band.

We’re super buzzed to put this version out, recorded at our last London headline show at The Lexington, which to come full circle, really felt like a turning point for us as a live band. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did playing it. and ofccc, in the spirit of the song, look out for each other, hug the homies & barn dance 4ever.

WELCOME TO THE BARN DANCE | UK & IRE TOUR!!

So buzzed to announce we’re going on our first ever headline tour!! Gonna be taking the barn dance to places we’ve never played before. It’s been a year since the album came out and has been a really wild journey since, it’s something we’re so proud of and hold so dearly! This tour will be a celebration of that, and also a passing of the torch to the next chapter of lavender with a bunch of new music that we CAN’T WAIT TO SHARE WITH YOU.

Very excited to take this live set on the road. lavender was born as a recording project and spent so many years locked inside the studio. It feels like only recently that we’ve really managed to tap into what it can be as a live experience. With the support of some amazing musicians and dear friends in the band we’ve broken the songs down and put them back together in ways we never thought were possible. Breathing new life into it again and again.

Each night will be different. Tickets live on Friday. Catch you in the dance!! 🤠
