✨It was an unforgettable week. Our run of Constellations, in association with @corkmidsummer, was met with full houses, standing ovations, and warm audience response. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the work. ❤️ Massive congratulations to our outstanding cast, @jumaguire and Aidan Moriarty, and to director @directedbyald and the entire creative team for making this beautiful production. A special thank you to Kevin O’Keeffe @chefkevin86 for providing the living elements of our set, a detail many audience members remarked on.🌿 Constellations marks the second in our Re:Directing Season 2026, a series of in-house productions funded by @artscouncilireland and platforming Cork theatre directors. This autumn, we return with our third and final production: Girl in the Machine by Stef Smith. Stay tuned for more... 🎥 @zebateira #ReDirectingAtCAT #ArtsCouncilSupported #CorkArtsTheatre

Delighted for the team - brilliant to see the rigour, creativity and collaboration represented in this review by Mary Leland of the @irishtimesnews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Maguire & Moriarty bring such ardent conviction of their characters that their own personal web, whatever its ramifications, is what matters.” “Because they are human, and not only molecules or atoms, they allow themselves a lot of fun, but above all Marianne and Roland offer a radiance of hope against all the galactic odds.” “As director, Al Dalton has ensured a wise endorsement of a fascinating play” Constellations by Nick Payne Produced by @corkartstheatre in association with @corkmidsummer Funded by @artscouncilireland

Pretty cool to see Constellations listed this weekend in the @irishtimesmagazine as part of their @corkmidsummer highlight 👀 We are among some outstanding company too! I cannot wait for the festival to kick off, be a punter myself and go see some outstanding art! (I’m also really excited to share Constellations with festival audiences - really proud of what we are creating with this stellar team - shitting bricks, of course, but feel this is a good’un) ✨ ✨ ✨ Cork Arts Theatre in association with Cork Midsummer Festival presents Constellations by Nick Payne Directed by Al Dalton Starring: Julie Maguire & Aidan Moriarty Directed by Al Dalton Set by Aedín Cosgrove Lighting by Dara Hoban Sound by Arran MacGabhann Costume by Valentina Gambardella Movement and Intimacy direction by Cathy Walsh Technical Manager: Jamie Feehily Production Manager: Joe McNicholas Stage Manager: Aoife Byrne Assistant Director: Chloe Walsh Assistant Stage Manager: Ava Manning Assistant Production Manager: Jack Kirby Costume Assistant: Aneta Zbinova Poster design: Martha Hegarty Image: Martha Hegarty / Celeste Burdon

This one is just around the corner 👀 and I’m buzzing for it. What a team! *** “One drink. And if you never want to see me again you never have to see me again.” Constellations by Nick Payne is a stirring love story with infinite possibilities. A quantum physicist and a beekeeper meet at a barbeque. They hit it off, or perhaps they don’t. They go home together, or maybe they don’t. In the multiverse, with every possible future ahead of them, a love of honey could make all the difference. Constellations is the second in Cork Arts Theatre’s Re:Directing season 2026 - a series of contemporary plays platforming three Cork theatre directors, produced in-house and funded by The Arts Council. Presented in partnership with @corkmidsummer A tender, and at times, heartbreaking drama about love, free will, and the choices that define us, Constellations runs for six performances only. Tipped by the Irish Times as one of the Top Twenty theatre events for 2026, don’t miss your chance to catch it ! I had the most amazing few weeks jumping back into the @corkmidsummer fold as artist liaison once again. What a joy to be a part of such an incredible festival. From spending time with world class artists and watching audiences enthralled by theatre at 4am, to corralling giraffes and trading war stories with old friends. I feel so rejuvenated and excited for future projects. I've spent the past few months fully embracing being a multi-faceted artist. My skills never fitted into a neat box, and for a long time I felt that was a weakness (not having a specialisation, but always being a vital contributor to anything I lay my hand to). Recently I've learned that embracing my creativity and adaptability, combined with my love for making art happen in all its forms, has brought me to the attention of organisations and artists who both need and appreciate my unique and broad skillset. Next up I'll be moderating a few events at the equally stunning @westcorkliteraryfestival, then lending a hand with @goldiefishevents at Cork on a Fork. Beyond that I'm looking to get involved in even more creatively ambitious projects. If you're teaming up for something interesting and you think you could do with a director/dramaturg/producer/organiser/moderator/creative Swiss army knife, drop me a DM! I would love to hear what you're working on. ❤️
