Our album Brighter came out 13 years ago today. This album and time in my life holds many special memories. One of which was making the music video and props with our good friend @elguida and having his son Lincoln featured on the album cover. 13 years later, @leesaap hears me and @joepending talking about the anniversary and I come home to find my kids running out of the house dressed as astronauts wishing me a happy anniversary. I was about to cut up a piece of plywood to put in the trash, but the kids asked me to make a rocket ship. A few minutes later, we had a little impromptu photo shoot and they played with the rocket the whole night. I love that we make music. I love that my kids enjoy it and are influenced by what we have created. And I love that 13 years later this album still gets enjoyed by people all over the world. So I guess maybe it’s not really the memories of making Brighter I love so much, but the fact that we made the album at all. Thank you for giving us that opportunity. ❤️🤘🏻❤️🚀

BRIGHTER TURNS 13 TODAY!! The year 2013 holds SO many incredible memories for us. We began recording Brighter in February, went to the UK our friends in Bowling For Soup, toured the USA, headlined our first tour in the UK, played our first Download Festival, finished recording, and released Brighter on October 8th! What a year!!

Brighter was made possible by YOU, our Second Family. We raised money through PledgeMusic, packed our bags, and literally moved into Fantasy Land Studios in Gallatin, TN. Our good friend Jordan Schmidt produced the album and let us live at the studio. We got air mattresses and called it home. Each day Jordan insisted we deflate the mattresses, fold our beddings, and store it all in a closet so it looked like a workplace instead of a slumber party. What a PRO!!!

This was an amazing year for us. Brighter introduced us to new members of our Second Family across the world and took us all places we had only dreamt of.

13 years later, the light at the end continues to be Brighter than it used to be.
