A Great Day in Helsinki! 🔥

On Sunday September 6th the Finnish Jazz Federation @suomenjazzliitto invited all willing and able professional jazz musicians in Finland to participate in a group photo at Säätytalo. The idea was to celebrate the 100 years of Finnish jazz by gathering as much of the musician community in one photo as possible. 155 musicians turned up and I was very happy and proud to be one of them. 🥰

The group photo (in the last frame) was brilliantly shot by maestro @jouniharala and it was very inspiring to witness him work. I was also thrilled to get to meet one of my biggest photography idols @gandarario (in frame 18) who was there to capture the event for Helsingin Sanomat along with music journalist Harri Uusitorppa. 🤩

We were encouraged to take our own photos of the event to have personal memories of this special day. These shots (the first 18 that is) are from my camera.

It was such a lovely moment with so many old and new friends. There's nothing stronger than a strong community. ❤️

Almost back in NYC - an Absolutely EPIC trip. New York, to Copenhagen via london, to @ystadswedenjazz .Back to Paris and down to Reunion Island for @jazzdannport .Just an insanely unique island filled with jaw dropping wildlife, and definitely the furthest I’ve ever traveled. All of those feelings, also on the bandstand thanks to the Sensai @kurtisrosenwinkel, the amazing @seamu3, and the wonderful @joeperi @skyleejeffrey @tigranhamasyan - to NYC!!!!

2025, the year that changed everything and nothing 🤍

In February I found out I was pregnant with Lola. Something we really wanted, yet something we were nervous about, not knowing how to combine a baby with our careers.

I was lucky to be able to tour and perform up until 8 months pregnant (despite the 1st trimester trenches, proof in the fifth photo lol). And since I wasn’t sure if sharing the news publicly would change things, I want to say how happy I am for everyone who’s kept hiring me and has invited me to join their projects for 2026–2027.

She is the most amazing thing, and it’s scary to be responsible for something so precious!! It will certainly take effort to combine motherhood and a career in music, but I was fortunate to get back to work when she was just 3 weeks old in November and in January I’m going on my first international tour with her 🌎🙏

So far I’ve only felt supported and welcomed by the music community, and I’m starting to believe these worlds really can live side by side.
