crazy lyricism man this was such a refreshing listen

huge shouts out to @lamardre for bringing back that hip-hop with this, the flows and lyricism on this are both impressive and work really well in conjunction with each other, with neither overtaking the other

i really loved the gkmc reference as well, if you keep listening later on in the song there’s another reference as well (kendrick referenced that bar from kanye too haha)

in terms of the flow itself, it’s giving me more of a cordae vibe, and cordae is someone that i respect for his own rap ability so that’s a comparison i give with high praise

really, the only thing that caught me slightly off guard with this was dre’s smile while he was rapping all of these painful and introspective lyrics LOL, but at the same time he does address that in a bar right here too to not be fooled by his smile

honestly, it’s beautiful seeing a smile on his face in light of the experiences he’s talking about, and whether you’re someone that has similar experience to him that he’s rapping about here or not, that’s a habit all of us can use in our own lives, regardless of what we’re going through

folks like kendrick n cole were the lifeblood of my teenage years listening to rap and really were the ones who got me into this whole world that has become my career now, so hearing stuff like this is always nice to me

the production on this specific song is so elegant and classy too - @m.orteh did his thing on this one

@joepolo_ did an amazing job shooting this video too, everyone all around did their part and it really is my pleasure to be able to bring this to y’all on your feeds

this really is the group project where everyone does their part LOL, but nah all jokes aside i loved this man. if you’re a fan or have an ear for true hip-hop, you’ll love this

swipe to listen! how’s it sounding? shoutout @lamardre once again man <3
